is there anyway to reset windows update in 10? There is an update that has been stuck at 19% for a couple days now on my surface pro 3.

You do realize it is a Tech Preview basically...

Your up s**t creek without a paddle cause you installed effectively a beta OS on your surface pro 3. (I'm being kind by calling it a Beta OS)

    1. Any solutions how to fix AMD Catalyst after boot-up? It makes some lags and finally its crash.

    2. How to run localhost (127.0.0.1) in Spartan Project?

Where are now Backed up device settings for Windows 10 10074 build?
In Windows 8.1 they were here:
    snesti.PNG
But now, when I installed Windows 10 10074 build with new computer name, I saw, that this new computer is absent in Backed up device settings. :(
    Thanks.

I just downloaded drivers from WU without any problems.

But sometimes my games gets a little lags (for ~5 seconds) and the first boot-up is really slooooow, because of Catalyst.

Safe mode is still available in this build :) however, the Windows 10 control panel (app style based one) doesn't work. This would severely limit it's usefulness as more of the control panel functions are moved over to it.

So, how to boot to safe mode? Same as in Windows 8.1.
Open an elevated command prompt, and type:
    bcdedit /set bootmenupolicy legacy

The F8 functions will now be available when you boot (all the useful options like Safe mode, VGA booting etc that people think Microsoft removed).

I needed this today as I was playing around with the custom refresh utility (to set my monitor above 60 Hz), and Windows 10 did not like it. It would boot to a black screen, and after a couple of boots came up with 'Bad Pool Header'. That crappy recovery thing that I've never seen which supposedly is meant to come up after 3 failed boots... would be useless for this. Basically, you could not do anything, and recovery did not work. The advanced options on the install media also has limited functionality, as you can not access the offline system systems. You can run regedit, but regedit actually opens to the recovery registry, NOT the system registry, and you cannot load the offline system hive, making it absolutely pointless! So, you say I should try the boot repair? That didn't work either! (pretty stupid, right?).

To be perfectly honest, I think if anyone else was faced with that situation they would hit 'refresh', which clearly wasn't necessary as all I had to do was delete the monitor in the device manager and everything is fine again. So, I'm going to open to a feedback through the feedback app.

Oops, thanks :) corrected the typo in my post. It's extremely useful! I've heard that shift-F8 is meant to work, but I have never seen it work.

I put feedback through the Windows feedback tool. I've also suggested safe mode be an option through repair on the installation media. Also, the new control panel UI doesn't work in safe mode, so as more of the functions are moved from the standard control panel to the new control panel UI, safe mode will become less useful. I've also put feedback about that oversight :).

It seems stupid, but most people would probably have clicked 'refresh' on the installation, which is pointless, messy, and for a bad driver may not even work.
