its better use Restorator 2009 find the C:\windows\system32\imageres.dll open it drop and drag the icon one by one and save it in desktop then make the old imager.dll in imageres.dll.backup ..otherwise if you want i can create dll images files ;)

Hey, I need help installing STMicro Free Fall Sensor Driver on my Dell Inspiron 15. Everything else installed (and works) fine under build 10122 x64. Really need some help from somebody more experienced than me. The error I get is "Unsupported operating system detected, the installation cannot proceed."

    dell (dot) com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=48PWP&fileId=3284504628&osCode=W864&productCode=inspiron-15-7537&languageCode=EN&categoryId=UT

    Thanks in advance.

update: if anyone else comes across this problem use System Utilities_Driver_ST_A00_W8.164-SETUP_ZPE.exe from dell (dot) com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=VH3P1

run the exe, select a folder where it should be extracted and select the driver inf from device manager - update driver.

What is your thought on this build so far? Is it worth clean install?

Lol, anyone here think Microsoft's goal of Windows 10 on 1 Billion devices within three years is, well put mildly "insane"? Do you think that maybe they can improve it enough to warrant that? I just don't see it happening, not unless they can somehow find a way to legally stop supporting Windows 7. Since my DOS days, every new OS I have happily migrated to, even when it did not work out so well. But this just seems like the worst possible direction. I feel like they are trying to bring in new recruits under a new system, and pushing out the older Windows users.

I think they will need to change the "upgrade within 1 year for free" to something like "Just upgrade anytime for free and we''ll even pay you" just to have any hope of success or to even come remotely close to the 1 billion mark. I think as soon as I upgrade my hardware to Skylake and NVMe SSD's, I may be going back to Windows 7 until it is no longer supported. Maybe by then Linux will have my issues solved. 8 Months now of testing build after build and I am no closer to liking 10.... Anyone else feel kinda the same way???

I wish they would have just improved Windows 7... :( Windows 10 makes me want to fall off the wagon and start drinking again (something I gave up in 1997).

1 billion devices over 3 year's is ambitious, but with desktop, laptop, tablets, hybrids, phone and xbox box all running windows 10. That's a lot of potential devices that can run win10.

I don't know that even if they payed you, all people would switch, I hope this does not mess up my activation:eek:

To be honest i searched drivers by vendors and device id's, all the driver installers i found checked for the os version and could only be installed onto windows 8/8.1 and 7 systems. I'll search once more but i was wondering if it's possible to edit the setup files to pass os version check?

You have serious issues if a version of Windows makes you want to start drinking again after 18 years

    Have you tried compatibility mode?
Is that still available in Windows 10?

Sorry, forgot to mention that I did try compatibility mode aswell (windows 8 and windows 7), it didn't work out. Thanks lobo11 I think I might have found something from google :) :) I'll try it out asap. Yup, working fine.

What can we say Microsoft has its haters, i for one love the push forward in innovation. I think Windows 10 will be very successful, Why? because now its moving along with new and future hardware if they stuck with Windows 7 it would halt hardware tech and eventually kill the desktop.
Honestly if MS keeps the same price point as Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 it will push amazing instead of 250$ for say Windows 7 ultimate which isn't worth it, this is what is keeping the PC Alive tbh.
