Yeah, this exact problem really turned me off something awful last night. I been an IT guy since the late 80's, worked for Intel all through the 90's up until 2001, and then for Lockheed Martin until 2012. I never seen anything remotely as insane as what I experienced. I was not willing to create another account because I already have quite a few accounts and a few hundred technet serials and have had that account since at least 2003. I could sign into my account online and see everything was OK. Even Windows recognized my user name and email address, but pretty much treated me like a stranger. It was as if I had signed in using a different account that I was not aware of OR as if I had bypassed the sign in during Install, which of course I did not. Most hair pulling, Microsoft bashing few hours of my life. I just really needed a drink almost but went to bed instead. This morning I woke up and turned on the PC and signed in at the log-in screen and all was well, it changed my wallpaper automatically right in front of me so I know it just decided to spontaneously work. I don't know what caused it, but it really really concerns me if we are all going to a system that relies on a cloud based backed-up account system. My Internet was perfect the whole time too, so it wasn't that. It was just as if the OS somehow had Alzheimer's disease for 8 hours.
I have not used an HDD since OCZ sent me a dozen of their Vertex drives 6 years ago bud, lol. I was just commenting that the system we are all using is NOT SSD friendly, not yet anyway. I have at least 30 or 40 SSD's here... The only magnetic drives I have are all in the servers, for obvious reasons.
Don't u need a live account to run this voice recg? That will make an open source one that works a lot better arise . Start menu any one? Regards
I'm not trying it, afraid it will try and activate system, plus I don't use Enterprise, you should not have to put any key into these Win 10 builds if there legit, putting numbers in, makes me think of activation, my whole screen could be a watermark, I'd just leave it.
Like I keep saying I've tried all that. I'm been using Windows 8 since it's launch in Oct 2012 never had this problem. I appreciate the reply but none of that helps. I'm gonna stick with it's just a bug in 10 atm.
Theirs a service in Services, Microsoft account sign in or something like that, maybe it needs to be started.
If you are talking about the LEFT side, you can't pin stuff there, you can only pin to the RIGHT side where the Tiles are. Btw anyone knows why the f**k restarting Explorer closes ALL running Store Applications? What the?
no when i choose to pin a program from to left side it doesn't show at the right side of the start menu
trust me nothing will happen....is not going to activate your running a TP...... that guy started a thread 10125 leak and no links just pics talking a bunch garbage.....hes done it a few times opening worthless threads and the Admin close them all the time. check the closed thread and u going see the pics he posted 10125 leak all have the watermark at bottom right.....that guy totally clueless.
It doesn't matter if Biometrics work yet or not, you can set a Pin right now but none of Microsoft's services or Apps let you login with a Pin so for now you can only logon to the PC with the Pin and nothing else but if you read the two pictures i posted it clearly says Windows, Apps and Services which is identical to the Hello/Passport feature. I only stated a feature that may be coming that they have not revelead, which is Windows Hello/Passport without Biometrics, they have always talked and blogged about Face, Fingerprint and Iris but not just Pin.
