Just in case anyone is interested, Build 10147 works fine with the Surface 3. (Non Pro)

10130 would not work with on my Surface 3 due to a major bug involving the Cherry Trail chipset and it caused bootup to hang and I had to rollback to 10074 when I tried to install it.

However tonight I did an upgrade directly from 10074 to 10147 and it is working fine.

    My reading of this is:
If you did a clean installation of Windows 10 TP, then provided you are a registered Windows Insider using your registered Microsoft account you will receive the latest builds up to & including RTM.
If you are upgrading to RTM from Windows 7, (8) & 8.1 then you will need to have a genuine activated key to remain genuine afterwards.

What media, the ISO? Download it, it's on the insider site albeit I think it's still 130.

you can get the installation media.. from esd here you just need a valid licence to activate win 8 and then upgrade to 10

it seems MS changes their so call free upgrade policy to insiders every day:rolleyes: who knows tomorrow they my tell u, to get the free upgrade u need a genuine license and a copy receipt of a surface 3 purchase including the additional keyboard accessory that runs u a extra $135... Thank u for choosing Microsoft ;)

It is as clear to me as it is to you. It is a shame that some people here just do not comprehend this. Or they just want to keep drama going over this issue.

Maybe nothing has changed and they are just talking about Win 7, 8.1 users upgrading to a valid genuine license.
Letting people know if license is not genuine, Win 10 will not be genuine?:D

    I read this as:
Registered Insiders will get RTM and all others require a genuine Windows 7 or 8.1 to upgrade.

Here's a fun random question; Suppose after activating I choose to be logged in on another account and delete that MS account because I don't want them having a 24/7 connection to my data? What then, Microsoft? So many questions.
