Is it worthwhile to install 100130, or is this build just overall better? I already have legit Windows 8 keys (which if I understand right, gets me the free 10 upgrade already?), so I'm not really worried about the free 10 via Insider Preview thing.

Alright, I got 100147 installed, but I ran into two different issues. The first was Windows Update (updates wouldn't download); restarted the service a few times, and eventually updates were handled (was relatively messy, but for now I guess it's ok). The second is, I can't access my NAS. The SMB 1.0 feature is enabled, but trying to connect to it via Explorer fails (0x80004005, Unspecified error). I can access the SMB share on my OpenELEC machine on my network, so it does seem like the feature works. I'm trying to access it via IP, and this has worked fine in the past (and works on another computer I've tried). I've restarted this computer and the NAS with no luck.
Im not sure this bug has anything to do with it, but I'm probably right. There is a bug...where you can't access any network shares or anything related to that. I discovered that the service "Computer Browser" is broken in this build. If you notice this service is a major component for handling connection to different computers Some might not have the bug though. I didn't experience it when I upgraded my machine from 8.1 to 10147. Some might have the bug though if they did a clean install...which i decided after I upgraded my machine.
The only way I figured out how to remove the dell logo on my machine was when I had legacy boot enabled. But as of now I have UEFI there might be tweaks available somewhere to fix this though
Do you (or anyone else) happen to know if it's broken in the latest official build (10130)? Edit: I disabled SMB 2.0/3.0, and I can access the NAS now, however, I can't login. I can access the public (no authentication) folder, but not the main one I need.
Sorry. But I no longer have 10130. Stopped using it a while back. I have leaked build 10134 installed on another laptop...but I don't have it with me as of now. All I know is that there has been major issues with network related stuff in this build. If u have wifi it randomly shuts off. Computer browser works when it wants. And I believe there are authentication issues relating to connecting to NAS drives, etc... Cause I was able to connect to one computers network share but It didn't even open authentication dialog. It just told me I didn't have permission at all ( in other computers I'm able to connect . Then I try connecting to another network share and it says it can't be found (even though it's online) But hang in there Were bound to get build this week... And problem should be fixed hopefully
Ah, thanks for the feedback I'm a bit impatient, so I'll probably just download 10130 and give it a shot there (and if it shouldn't work there; I'll just go to 8.1 temporarily). In the meantime, if anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to try them.
