Wow! Shutdown last night, watched a movie, slept overnight, looked at forum this morning and a whole new 12 pages of wild speculation about what may or may not happen and what someone has or hasn't tweeted have been added. Some ppl clearly have far too much time on their hands. Did someone actually post that they were throwing an all nighter in case Wzor leaked something!
And at the end of the day let's be honest, what we're all waiting for is essentially Win 8.1 with a horrible re-designed start menu bolted on and even more focus on those unneeded Metro apps and some hideous flat icons! To then be followed by Gig's of updates and fixes.
I'm no windows fanboy any more they made too many mistakes in cooking up their OS in the past and will go on in the future !! But I believe there is no perfect OS it is an proces of trial and error as long as there is some learning involved I will be looking forward to the changes
Am sick and tired of been served s**t with windows 8/8.1 hated the whole resigned since 2012 they should have done two os systems one focus on tablets and another on desktop but instead we been served s**t for the last three years now they make new changes more for the tablet side of things .. Sadly we have all got to get use to windows 10 until people complain about stuff then there will be windows 10.1 and that will take around a year to come out if all goes tits up ? Just looking now at all OS since Bill Gates left just before Windows 7 / 2008 the company really has gone tits up ? That says alot and influence he had on Microsoft .. What have we since in the last 6 years nothing much just Microsoft losing profit and severing s**t to the consumer . this is why they are giving so much crap away this year plus other people have jump ship because of poor poor creativity as a company and brand these days you have the likes of Apple / Google offering something different compared to same old Microsoft ..
Never had a issue with 8 or 8.1 mainly because i always use uefi i loved the ui amd metro and still use start screen in windows 10 because it helps my work flow

Maybe but what about the mass market (Joe Public). Removing the start menu from Win 8.xx must rank up there with the most suicidal and epically stupid decisions taken by a large company. The very fact that they have tried to re-engineer it in Win 10 proves this. Talking about Joe Public here, not enthusiast types. Over time I have re-installed Win 7 on two brand new laptops for family members because they loathed Win 8 with a vengeance - why, because there was no start menu and to them that is how you used and navigated Windows, and I bet like many on this forum I've heard those same sentiments expressed to Win 8 over and over again "I hate it because there is no start menu". Okay so I could install one of the many start menu replacements for them, and did but still it was'nt Windows 7 to them. Why did MS take the decision to re-incorporate a start menu into Win 10 - because they realised they had dropped a clanger of monumentally epic proportions. And this doesn't take into account the horrible Metro junk (for tablets) hated by so many.
I'm honestly not sure what else they could do in such a short period of time. If you make too many changes, you mess things up or have too many unintended consequences. You also get the people who don't like things because they're too different. I'm actually curious about the stuff you can't see. I'm curious about how much it uses your hard drive vs 7 or 8.x I'm curious about how well it performs on older vs newer hardware compared to 7. I'm curious about the FPS in video games and DX12. I agree, it's not much different. I just don't think it ever could have been, in a year.

So at some point all Modern UI apps lost the close/minimize/maximize buttons visually (they still work if I click the right spot). Any ideas what I can do to fix it?
