I think they've missed (fi-fi, sv-se, dk) 10159 on WU. Guess I have to keep on waiting.

Has anyone noticed that File Explorer stops responding at times and will re-index directories it has just accessed? For instance, I'll go into my folder of Star Trek episodes, wait while it pulls the date and length from the files, then close out explorer and re-access the directory and it goes through the entire file access again?

Other times, I'll click on the file explorer link in the toolbar and it will just sit there.....10 or 15 seconds later.....then it opens?

Build_Edition_Architecture_Language might get quick and correct answer.

    e.g.

    10159_Pro_x86_sv-SE

    are you using windows defender.

because its a hog on system resources and causes file explorer to have those issue.

The closest I know to this issue is the thumbnail cache problem that everyone's been having since 8.x

I can't disable Defender in services.msc - is there something else I need to do?

I ended up using the Group Policy Editor to "enable" turning Windows Defender off....

Once I did that and rebooted, both services were also stopped.

We'll see if that fixes my file explorer issues.

When I stopped Windows Defender from control panel, the services were still running in the background. By using gpedit, it not only stopped defender but the two services attached to it.
