Right Click start button Run type in dxdiag System Tab-Check your DirectX Version at the bottom of the page
It sounds like lots and lots of days might actually be one or two days. Either way I see no other choice if I want my free copy.
Could be but the way Mr. Myerson said it it didn't sound like 1 or 2 days. But ya if you feel like waiting no problem. I guess what you could end up doing is snagging an ISO from online and upgrading from windows 7 (problem is I don't know if you can only get it free from gwx) Edit: I believe there is a slight chance that if you upgraded your 7 or 8.1 to insider preview builds you still qualify...but I'm probably wrong...
Not correct I'm afraid, to check if your videocard is dx12 capable you need to check the display pane(s) in dxdiag, and look for 'feature levels'... on my GTX 970 it says: 12.1, 12.0, 11.1, 11.0 and so on... you need to have 12.0 at least here, to have dx12 support on your videocard
On one of my test PCs, an old one, I've tested an ancient video card, AMD HD 7770, and 3DMark ran DX12 test on it. I remember that DXDiag showed DX12 on System page but on Display page feature levels was listed 11.1, 11.0 etc.
I don't believe it will take long either, anyway you can play with RTM on another computer or partition I'm not sure if MS is sure
Hey Wardocs, how did you install that driver, did you use DDU to unisntall the old one or what, please? EDIT: Is anyone online now that could answer that question, please? EDIT2: OK, I did it the "Programs and Features" way, that was easier
I remember I seen dx 12 in dxdiag on screen build 10130 before I upgrade to 10162, I just checked dxdiag dx 11.2 now
I'm not sure anyone should upgrade over Win 7,8, 8.1 with leaked build, what if the one we get on 29th is alittle different, what if it has to come from Windows Update, ya'll are braver than me. I'm going to try and do it exactly as MS says. If you reserved your copy of Windows 10, we will notify you once our compatibility work confirms you will have a great experience, and Windows 10 has been downloaded on your system I don't know but your system may need to be compatible with Win 10, before your upgrade will show up as ready, First, remove your Anti Virus if you have one, Windows Defender will auto start so you will be protected. You already know first time is upgrade, make sure your signed into your MS account, then your ready for clean install, that is going be scary, wondering if it comes out activated.
