f**king audio problems. I'm on build 10162, and Windows decides that I require two audio drivers, Conextant and Dolby Digital. If I uninstall one of them, the audio comes back .. until I reboot and the driver I uninstalled is back on the system. edit: I uninstalled both Conexant and Dolby, leaving the generic driver which works. Not even 5 minutes later, both drivers have reinstalled without even rebooting the laptop.
I don't think it's going to happen today. That is more of skepticism than what is the reality of Windows optimistic plan though. I have my little doubt we will receive any build throughout the coming weekend.
We may be done with interim builds if their focus is on RTM now and it should be. Interim builds were to provide feedback and it's too late for feedback now.
This is Microsoft Windows, there is no such thing as "too late for feedback". They need feedback indefinitely.
Me too... I have a Realtek ALC892 audio chip on-board (Asrock 970 Extreme 3 R2.0). I have audio only in CD Quality (16 bit, 44.1kHz), I am using a 5.1 sound System, rear speakers also sound strange. I had similar issues only in some previous builds, but this one is the worse. In those builds i could solve it with selecting 7.1 in driver settings and disable the side speakers (to have a 5.1 System) and with this i could keep the higher sample rates. Its not working on 10162... :-/
I concur on that statement. Even Microsoft makes it clear the feedback process will continue after the RTM release. Those who are willing to receive them as Insiders can continue to opt in and provide their views.
my point is that they don't need more feedback to finalize RTM, not they won't need it for the next 1000 years, if they did they would have pushed out more builds this week.
Okay. But, I am still sending out feedback(likewise other Windows Insiders) and there is evidence some of them are received and approved.
Unless they are just going to give up on getting 10 out by July 29th there is no chance any feedback this week will make it into RTM, that would mean a whole new set of builds and testing for each.
Perhaps, the minor ones can be quickly forestalled and included in the RTM. I think we have seen some changes made to Insider Previews within a short period of time. The last releases are testaments to that. It is arguably what is going to happen if they are going to use the feedback to make some changes to it before on the 29th of July. My guess is they may come as updates before or after the RTM.
