Windows update is a step backwards IMO. Interface looks prettier and minimalist but too many features gone like selecting updates, the percentage kind of gets stuck even though updates get installed. And seems overall unresponsive.
You all seem to fight with funny problems with your drivers. I have none of these problems and I'm happy with the latest builds. 10162 and 10166 are running without any problem on my MacBook Pro. Even my old MS Money software is working I'm using boot to VHDX so I cannot update from version to version but that's not a big deal... at least, I'm sure I'm avoiding most of the problems you're referring to because of fresh install every time. I'm deploying all my apps using SCCM so it doesn't take long to have a functional computer back online. All I'm waiting for now are : - RSAT (I'm really missing this because I'm a system admin and cannot work without PowerShell AD administration modules). - A Server build to get the Dedup function... (I have a 1 TB Samsung 850 Pro SSD for my VM architectures that is deduped with Windows 8.1.... 54% (560 Go) of space saved thanks to dedup.... sooooo cool. I'm disappointed that they didn't include it in Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise). That's all I miss. See you
Just set it back to Windows Photo Viewer. Oh. Right. You can't "just" do that. You have to apply a regfix so Windows Photo Viewer, a BASIC part of the OS since XP will work now, because they've broken that several dozen builds ago and still hadn't fixed it. Windows update will be getting *very* firmly disabled on any PC I choose to infect with 10, however it has to be done. Microsoft don't get to randomly dictate what goes on our machines. EDIT: And of couse a Macbook won't struggle. They aren't computers, with varying configurations and complex software. They're overpriced toys for consuming Facetube. Far simpler.
All modern UI apps stopped working 3 days ago, they just flash and close, no repair works. Any such experience ?
Who is anybody? It's the internet and in this case it is supposedly a MS employee but as I said I thought it was posted last night and it was not..he is 12 hours ahead of us so he must have been referring to today.
did you try to create new local account(admin) then delete the msa,log in with the account you created, then recreate your msa again, you can then delete the local, when you log in with the msa that you recreated, windows will recreate the apps, you may have to update some.
Too many threads to keep up with everything now confusing the heck out of me now .. Anybody else ..? Just wonder anyway how the heck MS are going to active all these free upgrades .. wouldn't be a lot easy using your outlook account info to store s**t on as i wouldn't mind doing a clean install and just save my tokens from my win 8.1 os system ..? by the way would it not be easy just doing a el.cfg file ..
It's going to be very big when they first upgrade, because of windows.old. But that will go away on the next clean install. Windows.old=Previous OS
