    my computer came with 8.1 with bing if that helps. i would imagine if i tried to upgrade to W10 Pro it would not activate but core might

    Confirmed, when you do upgrade from Windows 8.1 pro (retail license activated) :cool:

    bring up admin cmd prompt, type winver then press enter on keyboard, tell me what OS it says:D


    OK you need to upgrade to Win 10 Core

    Just check with my pc and yes! I can confirmed this too. So if you upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1 with the legit keys, it's good to go! After 29th you can still be insider or stop and opt-out Microsoft will use that key to transfer your license. Don't need to roll back to Windows 8.1 again to get the offer :D

    Can anybody who did a clean install and been activated (Not KMS method) please use produkey to check if there is still the previous key or not? If you have the old keys it will confirm that microsoft use generic key for all but kept the legit license in their server :)

    I am running the latest build already, upgrading from 10166. Does this mean my hardware ID is already stored on the MS servers?

    No previous key on 5 clean install rigs (all using individual own upgraded install.wim from each) but all 3V66T endings

    and be Windows Insider too, at same time:D
