my computer had a oem win 8.1,i joined insiders and upgraded through win update with all the builds, they were pro,i've upgraded to 10240 pro through win update,if i opt out i know i will be still activated, but will my computer downgrade itself to the win 10 home, because the original os wasn't 8.1 pro.
coleoptere2007 friend, is put information about win8. why it may be related to the activation of windows 10 for those with original serial win8
Murphy78 (or someone else), Do you know what happen to Windows Photo Viewer ? I don't find it. I can open picture only with Photo app.
Think they removed it since they already had photo app. It was horrible in win8, anyway. Everything looked yellow.
Im currently downloading the build 10166 ESD. can i still get it activated when i install it?and then update to an activated 10240 using wu?
There are those using Enterprise from the onset before the said rule , possibly, to carry out further test. How are they going to be able to use 'existing installation'(previous build) to activate their Windows 10 when Enterprise is not on the free activation offer? The only chance they have as Insider is to do new installation and try to use their MSA to log in - which, cannot be activated at the moment. Microsoft really double-down on those who really help to test Windows 10 with such a quick move. It is not encouraging at all. At least, they should have warned those using Enterprise to switch to Pro so that they can have the chance of activating their systems through this new rule. However, if there is no way for those who did clean install due to aforesaid mistake cannot activate their system at the end when their MSAs prove they have been loyal testers, means one thing that Microsoft doesn't really take Insiders serious as it purported to be.
Photos app not comfortable for me. It takes time to see picture when I open it with this app. Windows Photo Viewer open photo immediately.
Why would they offer you upgrades if you opted out? There would be no official way to even get builds to you. If you're asking me about activation, I don't believe you need to stay in the program to be activated.
jumplists are broken in build 10240 Jumplists are totally broken in windows 10. For example, explorer jumplist doesn't work at all, putty also doesn't work. Modifying launch parameters of pinned shortcut creates second taskbar icon after launching the program (this was working without problems on windows 8). Also the number of entries which is hardcoded to 9 is pretty low. Does someone know if it can be changed somehow? There is no gui and changing Start_JumpListItems in registry has no effect.
My bad. I am sorry. I was leaving from work. My apologies. Does someone has the ESD Files of Windows 10 Pro and Home editions in both architectures (x86 and x64) in Mexican Spanish (es-MX)? Thank you in advance.
No, you can't at the moment because the Insider keys are already blocked by Microsoft. It sometimes get activated and later get deactivated. It's like there is some in-house management being carried out. Who really knows?
no,what i said was if i stay an insider, my original oem os 8.1 wasn't pro, when i joined insiders all the builds that i received through win upgrades were pro,if i stay an insider do you think when the final build is pushed to the public and us,that microsoft will give me pro builds, because i was wondering what would happen to my os if i opted out after then, would i still be activated on pro or would i have to downgrade.
