For anyone wondering you can upgrade a Pro install that is activated to Enterprise, then KMS activate with MST. You can delete your Microsoft/insider account when done too if you wish to take back your privacy.
How are you so sure that the version 10240 isn't the RTM ? Because of the official release date is 29/7 ? Well M$ said that insiders will get the RTM earlier. Personally i think that the version 10240 is the RTM and M$ will just release a big update at release.
Hmm. Strange. I did it and after upgrade system became un-activated.. Although my Win8.1 was activated with tokens trick (Win8.1 + tokens from Win8 + legit WMC key). Maybe this is a reason.
Doesn't the Advanced Tokens Manger say that it's iffy with 8.1? Anyways that sucks . It's probably because it's tied to KMS - KMS is not included in the free upgrade, so those activations don't get activated.
I'm pretty sure that's the case too. Windows 8 worked similar, there was a RTM and then a GA patch the day of release to get rolled up to the latest release.
No need for a manager. All you need is tokens from Win8 activated with legit WMC key. When you can switch them to Win8.1, enter key again and volia. Will do another test later today.
I don't think this is the RTM they have sent to manufacturers this is probably a similar build but only for insiders, and yes it pretty clear this isnt the release that will come on the 29th. I don't think MS would use the same key for every user of windows 10 this would mean MS is only using System IDs / UUIDs to record activations.
I would try it, but after the upgrade and user logon screen I just get a black screen and just the mouse point, tried it now 2times, with and without antivirus installed so upgrade not successfuly for me
Lol just got the "Activate Windows" watermark on 10 Enterprise (it waits a few hours before appearing), and it's Upgraded! It now appears on top of everything else, like web browsers, and even videogames running in Borderless full screen windows! I'm gonna submit feedback on it >_< I mean thank god, back in previous versions of Windows I could never see it over my desktop wallpaper lol.
