I assume that you used a Microsoft Account for your Upgrade and then when you clean installed it you used the same Microsoft Account? Try this: Create another Microsoft Account and use that to clean install 10240 (no Upgrades) and see if it will automatically activate? As a matter of fact I'll even try that myself within the next few days when I have time.
One of the reason I re-install (clean) again on 32bit for to see that activation from the 64bit has kept at MS. I use an Insider Account for that and if they kept the Hardware ID, that new installed 32bit should be automatically activated again. The Hardware ID of that computer were never used on any OS because that Machine were only working with Linux (Debian) before. In about 30min. latest I'll know what will be?!
Will somwone help me I am insider since 10074 build and only gone through official builds . Right now on build 100162 with MSA activated (insider ) For some unknown reason build 10240 not installed ,,, buts its still in $windows/Source folder 1. Can I make .ISO with that ? 2. IF I make iso by that ESD file and did a clean install, that would be still activated by same MSA 3. OR I can make bootable USB ,, plug in current 10162 build ,, and simple run setup file (Normal Upgrade process) ,, than it would be still activated
1) Yes u can make the iso using the latest esd decrypter. 2) Yes I it will still be activated. 3) Yes u can do the normal upgrade or just run the setup.exe in $Windows folder.
It has en-US x86, but no en-GB x86 I've got en-US x86 10240, and en-GB x64 10240, but not the x86 en-GB, which is the one I'm trying to work out how to get Can't even capture the ESD anymore because MS disabled activation of older builds (Or do they not need to be activated to get the update?)
Anyone secure wiped their disk (not format) and did clean install and was activated again. (Assuming you upgraded and clean installed before wiping). Maybe they store the activation data in a sector of the disk.
I thought some of you might like this. Works just fine on 10 Enterprise, should do on Pro and anything back to 8.1 at least; How to run "apps"... as Administrator! Usually the running of "apps", including Microsoft Edge, is prevented with the annoying "Built in Administrator cannot run these" error. HOWEVER; gpedit.msc -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options -> “User Access Control: Admin Approval Mode for built in Administrator" Enable this and OK it. THEN; regedit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\UIPI Double click the "default" on the right hand pane and enter "0x00000001 (1)" (WITH the space, no quotation marks) OK it and reboot. You can now run "apps" as Administrator. If you have done the Powershell command to completely remove all "apps", Microsoft Edge will be left behind and still works fine now.
Any way to make the start menu (empty space) even smaller? cant seem to find the way, this is as narrow as I can get it (2 columns) even though I only use one column.. dragging it with the mouse just go so far...
Ok, 32bit Enterprise is installed now. Activation had to be done again manually. This time I was just use the xspace.in server for to activate with the following command: Code: slmgr /skms kms.xspace.in slmgr /ato This activated the Enterprise with no problems. And I even didn't changed the Product Key, I was just use to activate as the OS were installed. Automated activation seems to be not working at all!
hmm, I have nothing DELL on my system, anyone see a reference to it in the registry? HKLM, software, dell, something about Mellanox WinOF driver?!? huh
Ok I had some crap today, tried to do clean install from 10240 iso, asked for activation and wouldn't let me activate. So I finally ended up Installing W8.1 activated with KMS, upgrade to 10166 via ISO, then login to MSA, then upgrading to 10240 via iso. slmgr /xpr shows permanently activated.
