I'd say reinstall 8.1 and then upgrade again to win 10. If I remember correctly this deal will last a year. Although with the new rules, I'm not 100% sure.
If there are bug fixes they will be pushed out to everybody in WU, won't matter if it's GA or what we have now. What they won't do is come up with a new build that has fixes and then tell their 5 million testers screw you you can't have them..when they put this code out they new exactly what would be done with it.
Bug in 10240, can't run cmd batch files from USB external drive to windows. Have to move .cmd files to C: drive, then it works to run them.
Windows defender automatically gets disabled if you install Win 10 compatible Antivirus such as latest version of Avast or Kaspersky 2015 MR2 (with patch c).
I think you must have all 3 set like I did, otherwise will turn back on. (if you do the regedit to disable defenders I believe sfc /scannow will reset it) There are a number of new policies now, a couple of them affects how windows updates works...but I need to revceive an update, as I think...keyword there is think, is WU will give me a choice on if to install.
Yeah that is good for people who use antivirus but believe it or not some of us just do not use defender or any antivirus and prefer not to.
