the best way to fix,is create a new local account(admin)delete your msa save files, boot into the new local account and recreate your msa(admin),reboot into the msa, then you can delete the local account.
Isn't there a proper Windows 10 Tweaks and Tips thread running yet? There's so much good stuff being posted in this thread that it will become lost amidst all the activation and upgrade questions and answers - shame.
So it could have saved the HWID on their server seeing as how you have a valid SLIC in your BIOS. For all we know the whole "reserve your upgrade copy of windows 10" is a charade. Maybe the conditions for being allowed an activated device on the MS servers (like the MS support agent mentioned) have already silently been met by Win 10 and your device resulting in the MS server having your HWID ticked as activated. This makes especially sense since pretty much anyone can have the reserve flag popup. The real check happens when Windows 10 is already on the device...
lmao indeed, like the Win7 Tweaks thread. Id be happy to mirror a ton of them on the cloud if needed, like the Win7 tweaks.
Yes the best way is colour profiles in control panel. You may find one specific for your monitor. You want the sRGB one set as the default in "All profiles" tab, and that will fix it.
Last one for the day, almost time for some gaming...and YATZEE for those who want to get rid of Edge it can be done. Now I just have to remember each step I just did. Getting rid of edge does leave the blank unclickable area on the task bar, assume the previous fix from a previous build will fix that part. I no longer have edge. It does require show hidden and protected files in folder options as well the take ownership regedit.
The GWX does do a genuine check on your current Win7/8.1 machine while doing hardware compatibility check. It sets a Genuine=1 entry in registry. I really do not know my system got activated due to SLIC check or GWX check using HWID or it's because of CLEAN installed 10166 upgraded to 10240.
I would but I am sure I would fail to maintain it. I am posting my findings so at least they can be searched for.
