I installed x64 home and was not activated by the bios because my PC came with the core version, where you can download the core x64 version, thank you.

Is it possible that Gabe was referring to KB3074663 dated 15 July 2015? I already got that yesterday. BTW my build now says 10240.16387.amd64fre.th1_st1.150711-1429

That's what it becomes with the first security update after install..he is talking about a new one.

 

So I can install without key and then active.

after you update first and make sure that is activated..and you can't switch types core-core or pro-pro

 

Yeah I guess so... I know previous insider builds got security updates as well, was there an extended build string there as well? Did it change with updates? I'm just collecting evidence this is indeed RTM, or "the build they'll update from now on"

 

I hear that's not a good idea, google it..i saw something this morning..it can be done but there is a process involved to do it.

 

it changed from 16384 to 16387 after the first security fix, that's all i remember

 

have windows 8.1 core x64 activated by the bios as VACO the update for Windows x64 10.
