Yesterday i saw this quote from s1ave77, but i don't know if someone already tried it or gave any feedback and since i just did a clean install (without upgrade or anything else) i'll just leave this here: Did a clean install - activation required; Logged in with my MSA (insider account) and system was activated after a reboot; After that i did opt-out from insider and after another reboot the system remained activated; EDIT: Nevermind, it's not activated anymore EDIT2: I logged back in with my MSA and instead of opt-out again i changed from MSA account to local account. In slmgr -xpr it says "Notification mode" but in settings app there's no text indicating to activate the system and i can personalize it.
Edge and Store app quits immediately when I try to launch them. I get this error from the event viewer: Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational Activation of the app Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App for the Windows.Launch contract failed with error: The app didn't start.. Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational Activation of the app Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MicrosoftEdge for the Windows.Launch contract failed with error: The remote procedure call failed.. Application Activation of app Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MicrosoftEdge failed with error: The remote procedure call failed. See the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log for additional information. Anyone have the same issue?
"Can I disable the alphabetical view of "All programs" in the start menu?" Just use the Windows disk cleanup tool and select cleanup system files. they moved it in Win10 but its still there. Google is your friend and so is pressing F1(help) while in Windows
Ok, so since my clean install won't activate. if I install Win7 and activate it, then upgrade using 10240 ISO, and activate, THEN do a clean install of 10240, I should activate again yes?
not able to turn on .net framework 3.5(2.0 and 3.0) in windows features. I am getting error every time. I am using home version of windows 10. Plz help if anybody knows...........
It may be easier to google MS's activation telephone number, call them explain what you did, beg for mercy, maybe they will pardon you and give you activation since you are Insider. You HAVE to upgrade first, then CLEAN INSTALL Even when new build RTM shows up on insiders page, upgrade first fro ISO, then clean install
I couldn't help laughing while reading your previous post though. I meant to say the way you presented your experience was very funny.
Well, i'd rather call it strange. In the first try the system didn't pop-up any message to activate it but since i did "slmgr -xpr" i then got the message in the Settings app. Even after the second edit, i pressed "Stop Insider builds" (after switching from MSA account to local account) and i was able to personalize the system still, no pop-up message but again when i do "slmgr -xpr" it says Notification Mode.
The experience was strange but your presentation was very funny. I would rather suggest you rearm the system and try again from there.
