MS has stated that normal users are used as testers for Enterprises. So... It stop using RTM, and ZeroDayPatches instead.

    Windows as a Service.

Gold/RTM does not mean what it used to.
They sent this 10240 build to OEMs. That means it's RTM.

x86 version is 32-bit. Read the instructions on the first page on how to decrypt and make an iso from it.

RC means Release Candidate, which pretty much means the same as RTM.

That's false... Release Candidate is exactly as the word describes it to be, it's a candidate for release (RTM). It's normal to go through a bunch of release candidates before you decide for one of them to become the release version (RTM). And according to the build logs Microsoft has went through a few release candidate's as well before they decided to go for whatever became build 10240 in the end.

But Windows builds are not what they used to be, with Windows 10 the build number will be dynamic as we move forward. With Windows 7 and Windows 8 / 8.1 we had the same build from release until the next version of Windows, but with Windows 10 we will see increasing build numbers very frequently. The first update is expected to be released this fall and will increase the build number from 10240 til 10500+ so there is no point in reading these build numbers like they act the same as they did with previous versions of Windows.

There is no doubt 10240 is RTM, Microsoft would not send 10240 to it's OEM partners to bundle with their hardware going on sale the 29th of July if the version would not be RTM..

Why would you need to? Just convert the x86 esd file. It's the exact same build.
There's literally nothing different about it.

I have been in the insider program since build 10130. Windows was neatly updated through the internet up to build 10240. And permanently activated too, of course.

Yesterday I clean-installed exactly the same version that was activated previousy, I skipped filling in the product key during install and I was eventually logged in with my MSA.
In spite of what I read in the forum, the activation had gone and it is not coming back by any (legal) means.

I was connected to the internet all the time while installing, using a wired connection.
In another attempt I did fill in the "3V66T" product key during install. But that had not changed anything in the end.

I just made a new attempt and clean-installed my version again. And... permanently activated again!! I remember the install differed just a tiny bit from how it went yesterday: by the end of the installation you are asked to create a *User*. Now I filled in my MSA instantly, instead of creating it just after the install (in order to receive insider-updates).
The funny thing is now, that I'm activated while "Download Insider-versions" is switched off.
    Anyway, it's solved for now..
