the point is that i don't understand how to upgrade and what are MSA and GWX! on a win 8.1 pc already activated, should i run the windows 10 setup and select "upgrade" ?
Normally, you will see this msg if you changed your group policy for WU to inform you about updates and not downloading them, which doesn't work on Pro from what I've tried.
Not necessary..I upgraded, activated and clean installed getting re-activated without ever using a MSA and I did it on multiple machines. You will have to move your screen down a spec when it first asks for your msa so the "skip this step" becomes visible.
Ahhh ... say that . MSA = Microsoft Account (that one you also need to verify you're insider) GWX = The notifation in Tray to 'Order' Win 10
cant install KB3074667... tried it now a few times.. there is always an error... (win10 10240) and my Win7 PC does not boot anymore after KB3074667 safemode does not work too
I used reset pc after upgrading, much easier and a lot less work. No USB sticks or Disks to worry about and you can format or completely wipe your drive the same during the process. Only after you have upgraded first remember .
@Tito Good to hear from you. Is this win 10 Core SL common to all languages as in generic key for all Core SL. Playing with a OEM-DM VM installation on my VM host, but it is getting slammed this time of day.
I dont know for you but I have a bunch of issues since the last security update. Like software not opening and others.
You'll need to Upgrade the Machine first, then they activate a Fresh install on it. You can Skip the key install during Setup an will be good.
Others, including myself, have had some issues too. It would be nice if MS at least told us what these updates are supposed to fix. oh, I see there is some info posted on them now. I take it back, they have a page but it tells you nothing..ie "Additionally, this update includes non–security-related changes to enhance the functionality of Windows 10 through new features and improvements."
