I was actually making a joke, another upgrade would take 10 minutes but if it were to happen they would lose every one of the testers who installed it and I don't think that is what they are trying to do.
Well, yeah you would have to get an iso from somewhere else most likely. Of course if our pcs became deactivated then so would all the ones that dell and lenovo are making as we are using the same code..i wonder how they would feel..you see how ridiculous a statement that was by whoever made it.
I think the Insiders ISO is different than the normal ones everyone get, Insiders have keys & MSA's, everyone else I believe it reads your BIOS for OEM or Retail.
True indeed as for me am looking at all possibilities as i don't wish to be sent on a wild goose chase plus the time it consumes going throw installing software and downloading other os plus updates to get windows 10 running i have windows 8.1 and 7 on standby .. Now i will just wait for six days seems the logical thing to do..?
There were no keys and I didn't install it anywhere but within VM using my MSA, everywhere else I just used a local account until I was done and it was activated. HOWEVER, and this is important, if you are staying connected as a tester you ARE getting at least a few updates that normal people who installed this are not. I had a conversation with somebody about this last night. He posted his update log and least one or two of his updates were marked as "insider" updates and I have never gotten them on any of my PCs. So while the initial code was the same for everybody it's no longer that way if you stay an insider.
You won't get them if you install Insider's ESD to ISO, and upgrade from a valid 7/8.1 without being Insider either. Build is exactly the same, and will be the same of everybody GA build with more patches...
correct again. Once you install the base code (rtm) how it evolves is based on whether you stay an insider or stay out.
So, you're saying that, if you upgraded from a legit Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 ( ESD to ISO ) , and did a reset whilst being in the insider program, you'll lose your legit activation? *EDIT* Not talking about Windows 10 OEM.
Anyone having issues with Nvidia drivers? I installed the latest one (335.30) screen went black and it messed up my install completely. Now as soon as it boots screen goes black and I can't do anything, can't even go in safe mode. Is there a workaround for this?
