Ok, so I upgraded to Windows 10. Activation went perfect, noi problems at all. Now Windows itself is not working 100%. Everything seems to be going at a snails pace. I tried to do sfc scannow but not even that seems to be working correctly. I have no idea what is up but it worked much better in vmware then it does on the main PC OS. Also bitdefender is not working correctly (but in vmware it did)

Perform a fresh reset to resolve all these issues. Do this:

    Settings App---->Update & Security---> Recovery----> Reset this PC-----> Get started.

Did that, still having problems. Did a clean andnow a defrag to see if that might fix it.

    It's probably a dodgy driver.

Did you choose the "Remove all App,s Settings etc" option during reset? If No, then do the same. If yes, then you must have driver-related issues.

    Hi Guys,

I am wondering if you can help me, I am upgrading some PC's in my work from legit windows 7 home/premium to this copy of windows 10 just via the upgrade not fresh install.

Some are asking for a product key upon initializing the upgrade wizard and i cant skip this, others are going through without a product key.

Why is this and what can I do to get around this?

    Kind Regards
    Jamie

You can't skip the product key entering?! Sounds weird.

Can you please post a screenshot of upgrade wizard?

Funny, now sfc scannow is working. Dont know if it was that I needed to restart a few times for the hell of it or a defrag or a cleanup or what but it is scannng and running better. Will keep an eye out on it and if i notice anything else Will come back

EDIT: sfc stuck at 33% now, acting like it was not to long ago when it would go only as far at 2%, even in safe mode

After clean installing Windows 10 I noticed system restore for c: was off. Not that I'm complaining (it's one of the first things i turn off) but I found it odd that a feature meant to recover from bad states comes as off by default.

Usually after clean installs of previous windows, system restore would default on and had never seen it any different.

I think it does but it doesn't lock you out, it just tells you you need to activate it again.

Probably driver issues, there are still plenty of them. I have that on my lenovo laptop.

Be sure to check minimum system requirements, as I'm seeing you've XP.

Anybody else having issues either in vmware or hyper-v with the workstation interfaces stopping and either having to reboot or going into the service and restarting it manually? I have had it with both over the last couple of days.

I searched the internet for a universal generic product key that worked with the build and proceeded to install and now its all installed and I have a activation issue (See Below), what do i do to resolve this and activate windows 10?

When you say interface, you mean network interface right? I did not experience that but while running the latest vmware 11.1.2, the UI stopped responding while running 2 virtual machines. It happened only once though; never happened on windows 8.1.

edit: by ui i mean the vmware gui hanged and never recovered, just killed and rebooted just to be safe.
