That sounds like a Windows Insider key code, If your not Insider go to their home page at bottom, leave this program, also place on 10240, sign out of insider builds, reboot
Yeh right!!!!!! And M$ also said 10240 isn't RTM (as we know it). M$ activation server will record your activation after the upgrade. After that you can do a clean install and the activation server wont be able to tell any difference. Once your PC is activated after the upgrade your soooooo safe to go with a clean install, the M$ server wont tell the difference.
if it comes back retail there is no renew time. only KMS activation gets 180 days (or less depending on edition of windows.)
Just noticed that the WZor leak thread was stickied(I seldom read the stickies) ..... if a 10240 thread is to be stickied, I would propose this thread from murphy, it's comprehensive, it's direct MS download, and it's many days earlier then the WZor leak......... ...... anyway, it's mod's decision, and the 7/29 MS release is just s few days away, there would probably be some depository thing coming out.
Yep, BUT ... this one offers ISOs and spares the dreaded begging for them in murphs thread (should be kept in mind).
So is everyone who updates from Windows 7/8.1 to Windows 10 getting the ***** Volume/MAK key? That seems a little odd to me.
I would be worried if I was running a volume license version of being deactivated, people would of been better off installing Windows 7 with a modded bios and then upgrading to 10 to get a retail install, much safer!
Running for first time windows 10 after upgrade and clean install from win 7. What have they done to the Shutdown, Logon and Logoff Sounds??? I really do miss those! Also i still don't know if i like the start menu more than 7. It's again a OS we have to customize to you're personal taste, like resize space between desktop icons disable apps, etc. Other than that it runs smooth as 7 does.
Setting up some 10240 vms and I have the rollup msu pre-integrated. The setup is a little different and the automatic association with insider program is no longer default. You have to OPT IN to the insider program even with a correct insider acct. I'm guessing we'll get GA images instead of msdn copies of the OEM rtm. Edit: now that I think about it, I'm not sure I've actually had the 10240 installed with an insider acct. I could just be paranoid.
