I upgraded a Dell laptop and Dell desktop to Windows 10 10240 and they have the same W10 key. They were both Windows 7 Ultimate, OEM:SLP activations. Will be interesting to see if the keys change after 7-29 rollout or if they stay the same. If they stay the same it looks like the Windows 7 OEM activation method where one key activates all copies of a specific vendors W7 version such as Pro, Ultimate, etc.
that happened in alot people bro include in my OEM key .. you need wait till 29 july and we see what they do about this..... all people who was have retail/oem keys win 7 or win 8/win 8.1 geniune take windows 10 retail keys...
I don;t think it matters what it is because they have said a zillion times your old key is consumed by the FREE upgrade. It can't be used anywhere again.
people here talk about this almost everyday the 50% of this page's is about this ..so better wait like all of us in 29 july bro...that only i can tell i hope if that answer don't complete your question wait for other maybe give much better answer than me....
if the license is tied to your motherboard and u replace it....u going to need a new product key....unless u just go not genuine and use activator.
