Hash and size matches mine. The "Play Windows Startup sound" was unchecked in Control Panel\Sound so I checked it on and rebooted. I didn't hear anything on startup and login. I also noticed I couldn't select a sound file below the check box I enabled, meaning the area was grayed out. edit: the grayed out area which I thought was a bug is not, it becomes active when I select items in the scroll window, d'oh. edit2: the same wav file is also present in Windows 7 lol, wut? Same name, same hash and same location. edit3: google says the window 7 startup sound is actually in the imageres.dll file in c:\windows\system32 and this file also exists for windows 10.
Guys, How can i update an update in Windows update - as KB3074681 has broke my network card properties. Thanks in advance

Thank you. Yes the same file (Windows Start-up.wav) hash matches, exists in Win 8.1 also but as you point out neither it or any of the other .wav's in %windir%\Media are the Windows startup sound. Perhaps we have found a small bug, startup sound is broken in Win 10 Pro?
