hmm there was a thread about this recently. You need the symbols program and trace program. I forgot. IMO it's easier to dig through the datastore.db with notepad and look for links.
After the install is over it gets deleted IIRC. You can always re-download and make it into an iso with the decrypter program tho. Links are in the OP.
Not worried it's a good thing. Hopefully activation stays even if I have to clean install at some point.
might be a bug then. i didn't click when it said it would be $99 but i do have a card tied to the msa. i'm going to see if there is a way to remove the cc and then try it again.
I'm sorry. I was hoping someone would chime in. There's supposedly a reg fix to associate things with the old photo viewer program, but I'm not sure which ones are needed.
There was no price mentioned anywhere. It was something like "Start upgrade" etc.. If this works like this and does not come deactivated and activation stays even if I clean install I'm happy
Has anyone noticed how dumb Windows 10 names the user folder when using a Microsoft Account now? In Windows 8.1, using a Microsoft Account would make my user folder be named "Dylan" which makes sense - it pulled my first name from the account. In Windows 10, using a Microsoft Account makes my user folder be named "purem" which is stupid. It's just taking the first 5 letters of my account email. Not a huge issue but is killing my OCD whenever I need to reference the user folder.
You must have caught it right at the point it was being implemented. I deleted my card from the msa and it still says it will cost $99. I am assuming if i hit that box it will ask for a card but I'm still not going to do that in case my card removal hasn't worked its way through their system yet. Somebody else without a card tied to their account should try it.
That is exactly the reason whether in 8 or 10 I NEVER connect with my MSA during installation. I always connect with a local account named Don first and then after the install is done I connect to my MSA. That way the user name will always be Don no matter how many different accounts I connect to later down the road.
