[DISCUSSION] Windows 10 Build 10240

Same story here, annoying... No such issue with plain Microsoft HD Audio drivers, only with the VIA HD Audio ones that ship with W10... will try to uninstall them and see how it works...

 

I wish they clarify what the updates does cos after the problem KB3074681 only more Windows Defender definitions have come just checked now

 

UBR reached 16405

 

OK installed latest update.

YEH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can once again get "Adapter Settings", so for me problem now fixed.

Putting away that humble pie til next time.

See so we are not bad as Guinea Pigs well it took them long to listen but they have atleast

 

Yes, this also happens to me. It's very annoying. I always bring over old configuration data from previous Windows Installs, and a lot of programs will not use %Appdata% like it should, but instead references C:\Users\MyOldWindowsUsername\AppData\ which means I have to edit numerous HKCU/HKLM - Software keys and .INI files to point to the new username path.

The only sure fire way to prevent it from happening is to first create a local account under the desired username, then sign it into an MSA after the fact, and it won't change the existing username you chose.

Alternatively, you can try this:

Login with a different admin user account. Rename the profile folder that you want to keep, note the new path. Open regedit. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList Find your SID in the keys listed there. You can easily tell as one of the entries will have the old path of your user account. Change the ProfileImagePath entry to the new path from #2. Reboot

 

Microsoft USB drivers are now at version 10.0.10240.16401 after latest patch; HTML Viewer is version 11.0.10240.16401
