I was playing around with the win 10 media creation tool iso's but i'm not able to mount them (yes wim file selected). I get this error message: dism.exe /Mount-WIM /WimFile:"D:\Windows10\Project\Mediatool.ISO\Win.10.0.10240.Home.x86.nl-NL\sources\install.wim" /index:1 /MountDir:"E:\Mount" Error: 11
I used it to download ISO, clicked on it to upgrade first, you must, as this gets you key in BIOS, then I burned ISO to disk, put in no key when it asks-1 time skip it, 2 time do it later in clean install
So I just use the media creation tool, it will allow me to create an ISO file for windows 10..I upgrade, then after wards I can do a clean install..as far as my laptop is concerned is it normal for it to mention "Get Insider Builds" not sure what that meant thought maybe I just have a beta version of windows 10 or something, I know, too overly obsessed about this but I want to put everything back into my laptop so wanted to be sure I do indeed have the final version since others have different ones
Yes you can use this tool to get ISO, I did, I used it to download ISO, clicked on it to upgrade first, you must, as this gets you key in BIOS, then I burned ISO to disk, put in no key when it asks-1 time skip it, 2 time do it later in clean install
Hi Guys, So today windows 10 is being rolled out, so do we have it 100% confirmed that the build 10240 is the RTM final build? Dont want to have to reinstall windows all over again lol.
I was playing around with it last night, it downloads some setup stuff first, but then I stopped it since I didnt want to upgrade last night..so first it will make me upgrade, then afterwards I can burn the ISO to disc? what will happen, something will pop up after I upgrade telling me that I can burn it to disc? Now going back to the laptop, how come others have a different build than me, some have 16384 others have 16394 etc etc..just want to make sure I have the final version, and does everyone, even those who just got windows 10 now, have "Get Insider Builds" in their update screen when they go to advanced settings
So I just downloaded the Official Windows 10 from Microsoft, but it asked me for the cdkey in order to install?
Nothing will popup, after upgrade, put disk you burn of ISO in and clean install, no keys need to be entered, 1st-skip it, 2-do it later, got keys from BIOS on upgrade
You have seen the upgrade procedure posted about ten thousand times over the past week? Upgrade first - skip - skip -skip...
I think you don't undestand me, the workaround to get clean legit installs is a few weeks old now and enough copy/pasted i think. I am talking about mounting the wim file, that's giving me error 11 (on a win 10 pro x64 with 10 adk installed).
What are you talking about, during upgrade it reads key in your BIOS for clean install, were no keys are needed, your not insider are you
Which key in the bios? MS creates a hardware id during the upgrade, this HWID is stored on the ms servers, nothing gets into the bios as far as i know and read here from trustable posters here.
No I'm not an insider. So the keys are useless i mean, once they validate your OS, no matter what key you got post-upgrade.
