So far so good. Its proof that M$ is moving to a service business model, and need to rope in as many as possible to start their customer base. Now after a year I have bets there will be a review to see if its paid off.
You'd be the first, what i doubt so far. Permanent activation needed at least short contact so far. MTK still only stores the old tokens .
Now if I was running M$, I would be recording those who activate DAZ loaders and other questionable legit systems. If over the year I see an upswing in thse people buying M$ products, like apps, then I would let the questionable upgrades stay. BUT if there is no gain, then I would suddenly deactivate them. BUT that me
Today i activated Windows 10 PRO with this method: 1. Clean install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1. 2. Activate with Daz loader 2.2.2. 3. Upgrade to Windows 10 PRO 10240. 4. Download all late july update-s(Check for updates) and restart. 5. Then after 10 minutes Windows is activated permanent (internet must be connected of course).
As said, doesn't work without. No need to think the backup was, since that works flawlessly without any backup at all .
MS will not deactivate DAZ because they want to own all little computer people , even the few who figure things out.
I have windows 8.1 activated through KMS, what if I download the windows 10 iso using microsoft media creating tool and then upgrade to windows 10 from the setup (not from the upgrade message that pop-up in the taskbar). Will it be activated or not?
Yes but you'll be given a different key then other people who upgraded via RETAIL or OEM. You're given a Volume MAK which appears to be invalid, as the system and installer do not accept it from a clean install. At least I couldn't get it to accept it. Yet it works when you do an upgrade fully activated. Somewhat shady. I feel like Microsoft is doing that for the "pirate" category
I am interested in direct official Microsoft link for Win10 Enterprise ISO, that link exists at all? I can't find anywhere. Edit: I see I need "subscription" in MSDN, etc.
Go Home or Pro? Since most business features like active, domain & hyper V aren't needed by me, what are the every day benefits of using Pro version? Does it use more resources then Home?
Only benefit to Pro is ability to Defer Upgrades (delay feature updates for several months by clicking a checkbox) Resource wise they're similar, though.
It means I get Volume MAK key if I upgrade from a KMS activated system. Is there any better way to activate (not buying)? If I upgrade through the 'upgrade for free' message that pop in taskbar, is it going to be different?
Can I upgrade from Windows 8.1 KMS activated to Windows 10 activated using ISO and then do a clean install, as you mentioned somewhere that no key is required after successful upgrade to Windows 10 because then after the system is identified using HWID and setup don't ask for any key.
