It won't work unless it is rebooted from repair under updates and security. Other wise those bios keys are blocked by the operating system.

Once I click on advanced startup and it reboots..do I just put the disc in the PC and it will read it or do I still need to go into BIOS and how do I do so

Correct, or set the boot to legacy within Windows:

    Code:
    bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy

If you go into advanced startup, leave the disc in there and you should see on option to boot off the media.

It doesn't have to be from the BIOS

It will boot to the DVD on restart if the DVD is in AND if your first boot priority in your bios is CD/DVD first device

My F2, works fine getting into BIOS, try F-12 advanced settings at reboot, plus put disk in try, bring up this computer, then DVD ROM, setup:D

OK so I went into advanced startup, I had the disc in there, and when I clicked on boot from media I saw maybe 5 different DVD options in there I had no idea what to click

The reason you can't get into the BIOS is because of the fast boot in windows 10.
You just have to keep hitting either f2 or f12 when the computer starts and your in the BIOS

Only legacy boot users will see the options, fast boot users have them hidden but they are still accessible
Also people who switch to ATA in the BIOS will see it.

Startup is much slower than fast boot obviously
    Why you use that :D

I am trying to install win10, boot off the usb, new ssd installed.... i get a frownie face bsod with error "System Thread Exception not Handled”. Great and powerful google says its a graphic driver. How could that be if this is just the setup off the usb? I even tried f8 and low res video. Result. Same error.

The laptop is an asus i5 about 2-3 years old. It has to be hardware imo

To me it's easier, but mine boots pretty quick with SSD 24 GB RAM, had 32 GB of Ram, but 2 sticks of 8 were bad, had to send back, put the 2 4GB back in, works pretty good:D
