it's not as easy as just that, in winver it's licensed to me , but even the on the shaky system it was, so MS still can deactivate you if they wanted... personally i doubt they will.
Just a question... i upgrade my windows ultimate and select to mantain file, documents, settings etc.. Now when i start windows 10 all my documents are present but no programs before installed, all are under windows.old/program.... So with this "upgrade" i must reinstall all old programs ??? Thank Hispa
I had installed fresh Win7Pro and activated with product key (MAK) on a Core2Duo 2.2GHz with 1.5Gb RAM. I had only setup user and not installed any apps. The upgrade went smoothly. Everything seems to be working fine. I am installin updates. Did not use the Reset option. Can I delete the Windows.old and $Windows.~BT folders? If I reset now, will it remove all updates also?
Will have to get up earlier, Boy ya'll (Southern Boy) are on top of it, just can't get ahead of the puppies, jk, lol
I have a Windows 10 ISO image on a USB key, and have seen a situation where it never asked me to upgrade even though a Daz-activated copy of Windows 7 was freshly installed. I tried running the setup file live whilst in Windows 7, as well as booting from the USB key. I got this to work on other machines, but this one desktop machine is a different experience. Instead of giving the option to upgrade, it went straight into the install process -- there never was any upgrade option even though I think I followed all the steps right! Maybe my USB media is bad? On another machine, it asked me if I wanted to upgrade and notified me to boot back into the OS and run the setup file from the install media. The final result was a success. As to the problem computer, at one point, a screen I've never seen before with some basic graphics on it (like a picture of a monitor) asked if I wanted to boot into Windows 7 or Windows 10 on the machine which was giving me trouble with showing no upgrade option (like a boot loader). So, have other people had the same thing, where they followed all the steps yet were surprised to find that the Windows 10 installer never provided the upgrade option (instead of advanced install) when it should be there?
Can you download ISO you need on bad computer, then click on it to upgrade it You did not clean install Win 10 without success did you
I will try again and report back. I verified the MD5 and SHA-1 checksums of the wzor RTM leak, so I know the ISO image is valid unless my USB key is bad. The clean install was successful, but as expected, came out not activated. I may have actually tried booting from the USB key rather than running the Windows 10 setup file (on the USB key) from within the Windows 7 environment. I forget now, but I do remember booting from the USB key and trying that way first. Now I know not to do that after reading more on here.
