After I delete "Temporary Internet Files" it not delete all. It remain 31.7MB. In Windows 8.1 it delete all.
Man this has been a couple of days of H___. It started upgrading RAM from 24GB to 32GB's, then my computer lost activation, I did nothing but take old RAM out put new in, strange. So I decided to put backup copy on, I did and guess what, it to was not activated, stranger. In all, I put on 10 backup copies, all unactivated, this was not strange any more, MS had put a curse on little old me, so I had 1 backup left, I held my breath, yes it was 8.1 but by this time, I did not care, finally success, if you can call it that, 8.1 installed, so from there upgrade, then clean install, then adding all those programs again, so the moral of the story is MS RULES, lol
nope the moral of the story is: read how windows 10 upgrade activation works before you change your hardware and wonder why it's not activated anymore. you did a upgrade from 8.1 to 10 i guess, so you had your activation bound to your hardware id. after changing some of your hardware (you changed your ram) your hardware id changed too. so of course you lost your activation! next time call ms phone activation or contact the support and it will work again
I did not think changing RAM would inactivate you, nor did I know that backup copies would not be activated, it seems when you lose activation, you lose it on backup copies too, so people looking to or buying software to backup your activation may be getting fleeced.
WoW I should have know this but did not, upgrading RAM, man that with all this spyware junk, I may have to go back to 7
I want to upgrade my ram too, hope I won't have the same problems. Planing on buying 2 new ram sticks, removing the old. Hmmm, I upgraded my CPU without problems.
Set the cache size in Internet Explorer to whatever maximum you want. It governs Edge's cache as well.
I mean, I have original activation of Pro version but I want to install Home version and activate it via KMS but if I go back to Pro, will it activate?
doing this on separate partitions probably will not affect your original activation but certainly will by stepping back again since your hardware data is stored on MS server and can get into a conflict. I never tried but feel free to do it and report back
Don't worry, I installed several times different Win10 versions and allways got my Pro activation back after a clean install and/or True Image restore. Edit: My only upgrade was 7 Pro > 10 Pro, all other versions tested were activated via KMS.
well, i Only use Skype on my mobile phone, so i don't even install the desktop one, but yesterday i thought to try the modern UI one, i tried installing from the app store, and it's not there, what's there is the Get Skype app, i opened that and tried installing through it, but it only redirects to Skype webpage (or at times crash)... i uninstalled it (just regular right click uninstall) , and now skype is on the app store but trying to installing it crashes the app store... i'm sure this must've been discussed before, but i couldn't find any answer...any ideas???
The broken Store App doesn't seem to be talked about much here or is this just me! My Store App opens fine but whenever I click on any App it closes, any fix for this?
Heck, alot does not get talked about, I just changed RAM and got deactivated, that is not how I understood it would work, so I was not worried, I would just put backup on that was activated, well, that does not work either, when they deactivate you your backups are deactivated too. Between this and the spying, heck Windows Vista is looking good
