    Did you run disk cleanup and check Update Cleanup?

    you should also delete contents of this folder after each update installation (sucessful)
    Code:
    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\

    And although Disk Cleanup usually cleans this folder, I still recommend checking that this folder is still emptied.
    Code:
    %windir%\servicing\LCU
    All should be deleted, because You don't need this content never more.

    Thanks, i will try. I think if you delete C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\ you cant uninstall the package but i can live without that. I did do some similar with windows XP and the KB´s are not listed anymore in appwiz

    @kaljukass
    LCU reservicing is introduced in v1809 and later

    @dexterk
    SoftwareDistribution\Download has nothing to do with uninstallation
    it's basically a cache folder for WU and msu installation

    cannot get the 2023-04 cumulative update KB5025234 to install on LTSC 2015, fails repeatedly.
    had no problems with the 2023-03 cumulative update KB5023713.

    EDIT: downloading and installing the .msu file manually succeeded.

    Dism, nowadays is especially squeamish, and when you have to deal with something like 4GB of thousands of files the chances that a little bit goes wrong are high.

    Look to dism and cbs logs for clues, if they dont help just do an in place upgrade to 10240.16384, then fire WU again to get current.

    I was wondering if anyone is still using LTSB 2015 & having this issue. For some odd reason windows 10 LTSB 2015 keeps redownloading junes cumulative update (2023) & the latest windows defender update over & over again.

    I tried a clean install even going from windows 64 bit to 32 bit & still the same thing.

    Even have done multiple clean installs (even remade the USB multiple times in case that was the issue) Truthfully I have resorted to turning off automatic updates in group policy to stop it from happening automatically now & seems to have done the trick (well hopefully) if wondering I have even ran windows troubleshooter.

    I mean I had this exact issue when I tried windows 10 LTSB 2016.

    LTSB 2016 kept downloading the windows cumulative update for 2018 over & over again & wouldn't move on or download anyway more updates.

    So wondering what is going on here & if there's a way to stop this?

    Also wondering if maybe I could just turn off windows update service altogether & just manually download each months update?

    Edit: I should mention the updates do not fail they seriously install each & every time. So even more baffling.

    Edit 2: SFC/ scan now came back clean as well.

    I'm still using both 2015 and 2016.

    But I stopped long ago to apply automatically monthly cumulative updates, I just make a new updated ISO once every 4/6 months and do an in place upgrade.

    When you have updates the (unpacked) are 6GB and made by maybe 60000 files, the chances that something goes wrong are very high.

    Whatever you can try to delete the softwaredistribution folder after stopping the WU service and see if it helps in your case.

    Heyho,

    Where I can download Updates for 1507 (LTSB) build to integrate in offline image?
    Seems in general is support for that build very limited. Why is that?

    Thanks in advance.

    @Enthousiast
    Do you have plans on making a list of updates to be integrated to 2015 LTSB, like you did with 2016 LTSB. Tanks!

    In about one year from now MSFT will probably cut it off, MSFT actually already did 1 year after they released it by releasing 2016 LTSC;)

    I guess @abbodi1406 still maintains a list somewhere?
