It is the only real way to test it. Must be done in the bios though. I only suspect there may be a time bomb because Gabe Aul said all insiders releases would expire at some point and this is certainly an insiders release.
Hi everyone, first post - long time lurker. So if i'm hearing this right, I can go from 8.1 SP3 > Build 10240 without any trouble. My question is, does doing so lock us out of build updates in the future? I've been reading conflicting opinions on the matter.
finished downloading and install windows 10 10240, via windows update. the watermark is gone no expiration? is it permanent?
the watermark is permantly gone even clean install or upgrade this is from microsoft have removed permantly
I already clean install 10240 but its not activated. therefore if I install 10162 and upgrade to 10240 will it activated?
I had the same issue with one of the previous builds, something probably went wrong with the upgrading.
I have after upgrading to 10240 of the ESD made a ISO. Then extracted to a folder on another partipatie example d: \ 10142 and I added a pid file in sources. Then I restarted windows: settings-> Update & security-> revovery-> Advanced startup. After restarting Advanced options-> Command Prompt and in my case to D: gone setup and run from folder 10240. Resulting in a clean activated Windows 10 after installation.
the question is, if this build is permanently activated in our machine? or has a time bomb? i can't see the expiration of this build.
