[DISCUSSION] Windows 10 Build 10240

yes. I did a win7 upgrade to 10240 and it never asked for MSA, it simply used my Win7 account and when it finished installing, it was local account from Win7 with same pass. No nag about MSA at all actually.

 

anyone upgraded from win 7 with a Daz loader ?

 

Do we have any non pro (home) Windows 10 ESDs? It's because I have a computer with Windows 7 Home installed (retail key) and I want to upgrade it to Windows 10.

Can anyone help me with activating and providing a link for german x64 pro esd or iso?
I found one but im not sure its correct. I get a bluescreen everytime with pnp_detected_fatal_error. ntoskernel Problem.

How I activate it? There was an activation key for Windows 10 Pro but its not working. Because of that, I cant verify my identity and Office 365 dosent get activated. Everytime he says that he cannot activate it and I should try later

 

It seems microsof took down the media creation tool yesterday..hopefully they are getting it ready to provide isos for windows 10.

nm..it's back up today and still only windows 8 available.

 

i update too 10162 from 8.1 x64 PRO and when check update not show 10240

 

Have I seen posts saying new activation is linked to MS account? How?

I'm not an Insider and have never logged into Win 10 with my MS account. I had 10166 installed and activated, upgraded to 10240 by dumping the ISO to USB with Rufus and running setup.exe - Activated.

Also did a clean install and soon as I connect - activated. So how can new activation be linked to MS account.

Boot drive is imaged and saved now.

This thread is moving too fast for me to get my head around it!

it isn't. In my post above, Win7 upgrade to 10240 without MSA. JUst using local with original Win7 credentials

 

ISO I just made have a different MD5 but ESD's SHA1 is 9D40E15F430AB89A1EABB165ACBF40C9F07D18BB, like the others

 

I had 10166 installed and activated{/b] One time activated - forever activated! [with or without ms account]

So at any stage that win7 has never been associated with a machine updated to win10X at any stage or. using an esd upgrade?
Reason I ask about the esd upgrade? .. Would an uploaded esd loaded onto no msa machines be using the same mechanism to activate that esd?

 

ESD should all have same hash, ISO's we create wont. The hash for the ISO's will be different for everyone.
