I upgraded my 10166 with 10240 and it automatically activated (I use a MS account). The big surprise was to find ROMANIAN language in updates - finally. I use windows 10 in dual boot with windows 7 - modded bios, not Daz. I'm damn happy.
lol - Well I did clean install in VMWare and couldn't activate that without using KMS, so fingers crossed
Well I tried it and it didn't work..."unable to validate your installation id" so either there is problems with phone activations or it's because it is not yet the 29th.
Guy's you better have a good read of this NOW IS NOT A GOOD TIME TO DO A CLEAN INSTALL neowin.net/news/psa-now-is-not-a-good-time-to-do-a-clean-windows-10-install
the ESD must be the same as everyone else or it is corrupt, fake or something else. Once you have a good ESD, the ISO you make will have your own sha1, nobody will have same ISO sha1. Even if you make 2, they will be different because of times and other factors. Start with good ESD first, the rest is no matter.
Not tied to MS account mate. See my post here. Also EFA11 confirmed he's successfully upgraded Win7/8.1 systems.
Am done finished with Windows 10 everything running smoothly removed all the bs UI system and apps .. Now am trying to figure out how to bring the wifi and action center up and back online but to be honest dont care about the action center and if i can take it off please advises me ..?
Now is not a good time to clean install It all says below so make sure you have a good read. neowin.net/news/psa-now-is-not-a-good-time-to-do-a-clean-windows-10-install
Ah nice, missed that post, so it could be tied to hardware ID then, something weird anyway because clean installs without upgrading first won't activate for me
They are likely referring to those clean installing without upgrading first. Once you have upgraded your hardware ID and activation status is stored on M$ servers, you can then clean install fine and be activated.
Build 10240 isn't final RTM!? Check the retweet by Windows India! Yesterday, i tweeted that build 10240 is the final RTM. But 1 hour ago, Windows India retweeted that it is not the final! Check yourself : htt ps://twitter.c om/abhijeetm31/status/621362579001053184 So, now my question is, is it true or it is the final one?
There's nothing new in that article. They didn't even post any proof of Microsoft's warnings against doing a clean install. Just a couple of old meaningless tweets.
This is exactly as I read that Neowin article too. It doesn't mention ppl who have upgraded first then done a clean install afterwards.
