I kinda had a feeling about this. "The Windows team has pulled all the Insider builds as well as their ISOs and is only allowing upgrades to Windows 10 10240 via Windows Update" people should of know that they could not do clean install of a non preview builds, and keep have it fully activated. and that upgrade is only path for now. it was even mentioned in blogs that build 10240, did not have a expire date and had no watermarks. and servers being cleaned up for rtm release.
Is it possible to get EN-US Core x64 at this point in time? I did see links to ESD files in another thread, but they all give Access Denied errors. I'd like to upgrade my Windows 7 Home Premium install, but I don't wanna risk using 10 Pro to upgrade.
Hello everyone It appears i've joined in a little too late, thus i'm still looking for a x64 Pro NL-NL ESD. Reason: The link in xinso's post #686 (my post count is too low to post a link) seems to have changed/expired. Much appreciated if someone's able to share a fresh'n'working URL. Thanks for all the effort guys (and gals?)! Spoiler xinso's post as mentioned before forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/62424-DISCUSSION-Windows-10-Build-10240/page69?p=1079760&viewfull=1#post1079760
Guys, have anyone of you checked if esd of new languages are available or still only the ones supported in Insiders project?
In this moment i have 8.1 Pro, so if i install right now version 10166 it will ask me to update automatically to 10240? I'm worried is it a good thing to do over 8.1 Pro or should i wait till 29? please reply
I said this before... how is this RTM? Passed all QA Testing? Like Sh*t it did. It's still buggy, Modern crap needs to go away like poof! -Some Notifications will delay or not show up at all until you open action center or start menu or taskbar icon jump list. This is still present. -The same old bug still exists in 10240 PRE-RTM Final Build, where if you can't open any of the action center, start menu, taskbar jumplist (new) non of them will ever open, not even Modern/Universal apps, another reason why creating a bastard OS with various different nature of programming languages is a bad idea, Windows 10 is not something to be amazed of, its just a bastard combination of Windows 7 and Windows 8 gone wrong.
What if I clean installed the original Insider build, rather than upgraded? Can I do a new clean install with the RTM?
EFA11 has posted that he's gone straight from Win7 system to Win 10 10240 with no problem. Run setup.exe from the 10240 ISO to upgrade.
yeah that i have do accually i have extract the iso and then i run it from one folder in desktop ..works
No I don't think so because keys for preview builds are no longer accepted (I think ?). For certatinty I would say upgrade an existing installation, make sure is activated then clean install. I and a few others have done it now. Edit: Both EFA11 and RAIN have now confirmed that they have upgraded existing Win7/8.1 systems to Win 10 Build 10240 with no problem. Run setup.exe from the 10240 ISO.
100% True. when i gave it as an activation key it strted upgrading my Pro => Ent. Can i do somehting else rather reformat for the 3rd time today and install averting from scratch again?
Thank you very much. I want to do an upgrade (so that I can make a clean install later on) and my Windows install is en-GB based (I'm from Europe but not from the UK). So I need the en-GB release. I also have to learn how to generate an ISO from the ESD. But I think it's an easy process.
En-GB x64 Pro? In this post - get it asap, never know if the link will go down. ESD > ISO - Create a temporary folder somewhere, put the .esd file in it. Download abbodi's decrypter from the link in my sig, then extract the decrypter into the same folder as the .esd. Right-click on decyrpt.cmd and Run as Admin - Choose Option 1 to create ISO with install.wim, wait some time and you will have .iso file. Burn ISO to disc or dump to a USB stick with Rufus - upgrade/install.
