Agreed. There is not really a RTM with Windows 10 anymore. It's going to be continuous update of via Windows update in the future. A service. I am sure there will be critical updates available on Day 1 after GA, and when owners of a new PC with win10 first turn on their computer. LOL.
Not sure I understand MS' efforts to prevent clean installs. I'm in 'WU Error' camp; 10162 wouldn't update. I've had to illegitimately activate it since well, new activations can't be done. Issues moving between builds aren't unheard of, so yanking ISOs and disabling activation is odd.
It can be deferred in settings updates/ advanced option. Defer upgrades in Windows 10 Some Windows 10 editions let you defer upgrades to your PC. When you defer upgrades, new Windows features won’t be downloaded or installed for several months. Deferring upgrades doesn’t affect security updates. Note that deferring upgrades will prevent you from getting the latest Windows features as soon as they’re available. is that what you are referring to?
any one can share alternative link for x86 home?? I can't download to hugefiles site, it said "wrong ip"
RTM: Short for release to manufacturing, the version of a software product that is given to manufacturers to bundle into future versions of their hardware products. RTM versions are typically released to manufacturers before they are released to the general public so that the manufacturers can work out any bugs the software may encounter with hardware devices. The release of an RTM version does not necessarily mean that the creators have worked out all the problems with the software; there still may be more versions of the product before it is released to the general public.
this is nothing new. Future updates are in the works aka th2 or whatever they call'em and show up either this fall or spring next year. there will be events like the one we had these days which are most likely to announce new stuff as usual
