So you have decrypted/converted it before you posted it? Because it shows already decrypted in abbodi1406's wimlib 10 esd decrypter. This is your pro x64: It should show: The install.esd you find in "$WINDOWS.~BT" is already decrypted by windows itself, the one you find in "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DeliveryOptimization" is the encrypted file, the filename is a long string and has no extension. E.g: this is pro x86: 87095D201EDB14068401CA5B3AF6E29847D1950CFB1D208326AE3AEAFDE957F6 and it's still encrypted. This is pro x64: F1FD6666BB30A85DEBBFCD879186AFC69554C90BE8D13034A89C14C1CE418FD8 You can rename, that won't affect the sha-1 hash, but once decrypted/converted without option 9 (Encrypted ESD Backup Enabled is OFF) set to ON the sha-1 hash changes, and it will not be verifyable.
All of these hard drive failures on Windoze 10 is very worrysome. I bought a new Dell tower from NewEgg with a 2TB Hitachi drive in it last week. Installed this build on it and all my 3rd party apps. In less than 18 hours I was getting corruption and it wouldnt boot. Multiple diagnostic apps reported bad sectors so now I'm having to do an RMA on the PC. Last month I upgraded a law office client's file server from Windoze 7 to Windoze 10 b10240. In less than a week I lost a 500GB Seagate drive on the server due to bad sectors. What is going on? I've also noticed I hear one my drives in my laptop parking its heads far too often. Someone posted in a thread the other day that he knows for a fact that Windoze 10 is killing drives faster than normal. I believe he mentioned it being an issue with the fast resume/standby feature? Anyone know of this?
I don't think the update, an .msu, will be anywhere near as large as the .esds and .isos. Those are the whole OS where an update just changes what's new from the original OS.
It should probably be like the service packs that were implemented in the earlier versions of windows like 7. I remember SP1 being like 500MB for x86 and 950MB for x64 so I am assuming something like that.
Could you explain more ? Are you an Insider but it isn't showing up on your PC ? I installed 10586 from WU last week.
Yes i am, i was reply to the op that 10586 is not available in WU yet = to public, only insider if they want now need esd to upgrade or fresh install.
