Specify the edition in an ei.cfg file and boot from the setup media. This worked in Windows 8.1 when one had a Core BIOS key but wanted to install Pro.
Yes just download the iso you need with the media creation tool and run the update from within windows.
If you use the iso it will be an upgrade. You won't get 1511 without doing an upgrade of any sort, thru windows update or by using the iso's.
Upgraded to 10586, some apps werent showing in Lock Screen Notifications so I ran the Powershell to repair/reinstall all Win10 apps. That ended up breaking all the new Skype apps, Store, some of the MSN apps and Cortana. Ran all the repairs I could find but still had to do a reset. Now I can't get Messaging to show notifications and don't see a way to add it manually. I guess I'm just going to wait for further updates to it...
Looking for the x64 Pro also... looks like some people with pro installed using windows creation tool and it didn't install pro but home??
No the tool has been updated. It gives you both home and pro regardless of architecture. Problem is that some of us with pro did a clean install. And now since the installer "automatically picks" which version to install its picking the wrong one!
If you download the Pro ISO and use that iso it will either install nothing (if it should be home it asks for a key) or pro.
