The dism command is not the same as using the "add features" option. The latter uses WU to download the files, the dism command uses the "iso:\sources\sxs" folder. And both have nothing to do with the use of an install.wim or an install.esd.

Doesn't make any difference. Needed files are in the sources\sxs folder of the ISO.

Exactly. I've problems via the WU option to download files, while no issues at all using the 1709 (16299.125) iso.

Yes I know.. but first, I missed the point of the question, so I just tried to help him with dism command.

Continue from my confuse.. I was just not sure if it would work with install.esd because as I remembered, I used to fail to install with install.esd ISO by using dism command.

I can confirm that dism works, while installing .NET Framework from the "Control Panel" (adding windows functionality) via Windows Update gives that error posted few pages ago. :(

DISM will set the product key automatically, last time i checked it sets it to an OEM:NONSLP key for enterprise.

I simply updated with ISO from UUP (Pro of course) and was offered Enterprise. Then I used the media creation tool.

    After:
    Code:
    DISM.exe /image:C:\mount /Set-Edition:Enterprise
I get "The specified file descriptor is not valid" error too.

So I basically can't make any Enterprise ISO without error message.

I'll be waiting for official MSDN isos or .ESD files.

Yep, you have special script "Edition Switcher", what I don't have. Easy explanation. :)

    The script does:

    DISM Get-target editions
    DISM Set-edition
Imagex: set sku flag and index name and description

    It's not a magical script;)
