Hi nosirrahx Good idea dude, Although I even have a folder unique to drivers on another partition so if it is necessary to do a reinstall is simple because I already have everything to hand
thanks, I will do it this way, I use my rig for mainly gaming though, not sure if that makes much difference. I have always downloaded from the manufacturers website
It just makes reinstall (if you need to) a lot quicker and easier. A small note, use the force unsigned option when integrating drivers this way. I am not sure why but even drives from windows updates will frequently refuse to integrate unless you do this. Another note, graphics drivers can be installed this way as well which is nice because graphics cards never get drivers from the initial OS install. Integrating them lets you have full resolution from your first boot.
Just discovered something. I have a Microsoft Basic Optical USB Mouse. Neither Win 10 nor Device Manager install the correct Driver for my Mouse. It is a Microsoft Product ??? I had to go to Microsoft.com/Hardware/Mouse Support Downloads and let the Web Site install correct Driver.
They usually get the first CU before release date, yes. But we don't yet know for sure if the 10th will be the release date, as MS haven't officially said when it is. Some places have said the 10th, but MS haven't.
I have the same on all of my installations. Also, in the previous screen I get "Windows Display Language (override)" under the main and only language. I guess this has to do with the Display language override that was available under the old control panel advanced language settings, but the new settings GUI doesn't have these override options anymore, so it displays that message because settings are still being applied by other means (as the old GUI set them). If no override was set before on the older CP screen were you had separate settings for override display language and keyboard, that keyboard option on your screenshot would show "Use language list" by default. I see no way to override a language display setting in this new GUI regardless of language order as before (only keyboard), even if the way it was set before can still show.
***UPDATE*** Well I took the jump again and turned off all the VT-D stuff in my BIOS and had the same result. But this time I was able to get into save mode and got into MSCONFIG and turned off some services to see what was causing the issue. Nothing worked and had the same issue. The next time I rebooted into safe mode I did the "Disable Driver Signature" and my system booted right up on the next start up. From that point I knew it was a DRIVER ISSUE and it could be fixed. So it happens that Microsoft installed some junk Intel drivers that made my pc nonbootable. I installed Driver Booster and updated all my drivers and reinstalled my NVIDIA driver on my own and.....BOOM all working and I have done a few reboots to check and all is good. I even turned back on the VT-D stuff and all was still fine. So it was bad DRIVERS from Microsoft on the upgrade all along.
I have just noticed a missing option under Recovery - Advanced startup. Have they removed this in 1803 or moved to some other place?
I avoid using Microsoft hardware because of lack of support. In the past I had a bad experience with a Microsoft joy stick. I only use Logitech mice.
how do we extract or convert .esd to .cab file... example: x86fre_Client_en-us_lp.esd or amd64fre_Client_en-us_lp.esd '' Just rename to .cab '' NOT WORK.... with ORJİNAL FİLE NAME passs... Dism /Image:F:\WIM\Mount /Add-Package /PackagePath:F:\WIM\Lang\10v1803\64_bit\x86fre_Client_en-us_lp.esd
My 3rd update on this topic and, hopefully a happy ending that will last. After last clean install which showed blurry fonts, NIC issues and pretty often BSOD, I also got a virus that got control of Windows Defender (it showed that Virus Protection settings were "managed by my organization"???). It was also opening by itself new tabs in Edge and hell knows what else it did in the background. Therefore it was time for a new clean install, which I did with the same ISO (the stick still held the files since 1-2 days ago). During the setup, while selecting keyboards and phone no., I suddenly lost the picture (black screen, computer working in background). Hard reset and DEL to get to BIOS (my idea was to try deactivating Intel integrated graphics that I suspected as conflicting with others). I found no setting to deactivate that, still I turned on a few auto overclocking settings that Asus MB included in its BIOS. Upon restart, installation resumed with the setup screen of 1280x960 (I guess) displayed like a stamp in the center of my 2560 monitor. Before the restart it was filling the screen. Few setups steps were repeated, but it went on flawless. After almost 1 day I can report no issues with the fonts, nor the NIC and no BSOD. I mention that the same software (drivers included) was installed in almost the same order. I just skipped PowerISO and Winrar, that I believe I won't need anymore. As the blurry fonts appeared previously since first boot, I seriously doubt these skipped apps are in any way related to my former issues. To summarize, I guess 17133 is extremely sensitive to BIOS settings during setup (facts I don't recall since some builds of W7). And if you encounter similar problems like mine - do a hard reset during setup & overclock Just kidding, I don't believe my case is reproductible...
