WaaS : Windows as a Service. The further they go, the worse they dig... Could it be possible for us, one time, not to be perpetual beta testers for technologies they don't even master themselves at MS ? Will it be possible, at work side, to get tools (RSAT, SDK, ADK) robust enough in advance, and not in pre-alpha tests ? (see the still alive 1709 rsat DNS mmc bug) Frankly, their latest admins tools are limit unusable... They would wish to definitely push people outside Windows they would not lead any different way...
Indeed ! Since we @Work decided to -massively- deploy "1607 Education" and managed it to STAY untouched, and manage to make it to NOT upgrade the way MS wants, but the way WE want, machines number that have savagely upgraded to 1703 and 1709 is impressive... They just forget @ms that an operating system is made to run softwares and make profit/research with them, not to push unmastered technologies because other competitors -Google Apple Facebook Amazon- do this way... A computer is definitively NOT a smartphone...
Lol, can't you just stay on older (but active) builds like the enterprise boring stuff if you want a S T A B L E X P E R I E N C E? There's a reason distros like Ubuntu release a LTS every 2 years. WaaS is s**t but the problem was never OS stability for me but the whole Candy Crush even on enterprise, telemetry and the usual stuff. They basically wants insiders and the MDL crowd to do the alpha and beta testing to provide a better experience for enterprise. Just look at the state of Pro, they remove features every release. Feel free to correct me, I'm just a mild Windows user who likes to rant.
Anyone knows how to enable anonymous access for specified folders only on a network share? I already tried this but doesn't work: 1) Add Everyone , Guest and ANONYMOUS LOGON privileges to the share; 2) everyone has full access to the folder on the filesystem; 3) changed those in gpedit (Computer Configuration → Windows Settings → Security Configuration → Local Policies → Security Options): Accounts: Guest account status – change to Enable Network access: Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users – change to Enabled Network access: Restrict anonymous access to Named Pipes and Shares – change to Disabled Network access: Shares that can be accessed anonymously – enter name of share you created in the text field Any clue about this?
