Yes, but will these renaming ways work, while Windows setup is running (the whole point of wanting to do this). And remember, at this point that the computer doesn't have a name yet. What I am wanting to do is, in Windows setup, name the computer and keep Windows setup from auto generating a computer name.
You do not understand what I am wanting to do. What I am wanting to do is, in Windows setup, name the computer and keep Windows setup from auto generating a computer name. B/c MicroSloth should have never taken away that setup capability. Of course I know how to rename a computer when Windows is running. I think you need to read posts a little more closely.
Did you test what I suggested or yours is just an automated reply? I answered to what you asked. If your question is different now, use unattend.xml, but that is a whole different matter.
haha I think I achieved a real feat: I installed W10 IOT LTSC 2021 x64 without using any third party tools; I don't have MSFT Edge and another mountain of "unnecessary things" is really similar in face and performance to my dear W10 LTSC 2019 only infinitely faster of course that today I retired for good...
@Mister Dev hm I believe it's hard for me to explain how I got this result because in reality I gathered everything I've learned right here at MDL over all these years... every day I research, research and continue researching everywhere is a job that never ends! so via the web it's complicated to explain in summary so far I haven't had any problems, only in a few days of use will I be able to say with certainty if what I did justified all my effort and dedication that's it
I'll have you know that, "wanting to name the machine in setup after MicroSloth has removed that capability", was my original and only question.
By going to the OP and check the "download" section, downloads are available by direct ISO and by SVF(SFX).
i installed it in vm and it install windows 10 enterprise ltsc 2021 during install i got the oem license aggrement not the volume license agreement if u see the dism command i ran, the edition gets set to EnterpriseS with the EnterpriseS OEM product key
19041.1200 or later = no EnterpriseS 2021 OEM key before 19041.1200 = EnterpriseS 2019 OEM key (no 2021 features, will be lost when you install higher LCU)
