I know this is not the right thread to ask this but since I'm on IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021, I might as well. So W10UI is a fantastic tool and I successfully managed to create a functional, updated iso thanks to it despite being a complete noob. Now my question is: I want to integrate, other than Windows updates, also the drivers for my laptop. Can W10UI do this or is there another tool for this? Would massively appreciate it if you could point me towards the right direction.

Doesn't matter in what order you do this.

Thank you, I was able to integrate VMware drivers successfully after using w10ui to generate the updated install.wim :)

Newbie here, so what's with the drivers?
I just installed N LSTC 21H2 on my laptop and getting cumulative updates and those stuff. But do I have to manually install drivers? Or windows update feature does it for me?

When available it will install drivers by WU.

It depends, some drivers will be downloaded by Windows Update, but others will not and you will have to download them from the device manufacturer's website.

Generally, the latest drivers available on the manufacturers' websites are usually better and more up-to-date, not the ones downloaded from Windows Update.

Thanks both. Will see how this works on my laptop, considering this will be for a regular working use I'll let Windows install drivers until I find troubles. :)

Perhaps you can try doing an in-place upgrade with v1809 LTSC then update to 21H2 LTSC.

Thank you for the suggestion, @Outcast.
I am already on 1809 LTSC, how would I attempt the in-place upgrade? Which image file do I need for en-us?

Edit - BTW, I tried a half dozen more times to go straight to 21H2, but the logs only say that the operation failed at the migration phase, with the failed operations being Pre OOBE Boot and OOBE boot apply.

    Thanks again!

Did you try to in place upgrade to 1809 itself ? Try this before attempting a real upgrade.

Newbie here. I've got windows 10 enterprise 2016 LTSB installed on my machine since 2017 or so, ive been installing the updates from windows update. I'd like to upgrade to the lastest version possible without having to do a clean install, how do I do so?

Check my sig for MAS and it will convert it to IoT Enterprise 2021 LTSC with HWID activation.

Thanks for your suggestion: I'd never thought of that! "Virtual upgrading" from one version to the same. I did that, but it didn't help. It did change some of my settings back to defaults, though... ahh Microsoft...

Phase Name: Pre OOBE Boot - Failed
Operation Name: OOBE boot apply - Failed
