Hi I have this build: version 21H2 OS BUILD 19044.2965 source ISO: ISO en-us_windows_10_iot_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64_dvd_257ad90f.iso Is it possible to upgrade it to 19044.3324? If so what would be the procedure?
You mean update it to 19044.3324? That would be possible by installing/integrating the needed updates: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...h1-22h2-vb_release.80763/page-16#post-1571109 Using W10UI would be the best method. Little info about how that works: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...prise-n-ltsc-2021.84509/page-164#post-1793420
Thanks for that. I have watched the gif several times now and have edited the W10iu command and am about ready to go. Could you look at the list of updates I have chosen? Is there anything you would exclude? Is there anything I should add? Also When the ISO is created will I be able to use it as an in place upgrade? I'll probably do a clean install but it would be good to know that I have a choice. Yes, the whole operation. Unlike in w7 or w8.x, updated W10 ISOs are just a complete waste of time (unless you have a REALLY good reason to do so). Just use the ISO you have and let WU install the last CU. One reboot and you are done. Yes. Another huge amount of wasted time. Just do an in place upgrade unless you have a REALLY good reason to do that
Lemme really answer your questions instead of that hobo rambling on and spreading her nonsense. Updates needed for use with W10UI: LCU: kb5029244 NDP481 Base: KB5011048 NDP35-481 CU: kb5028946 NDP481 LP from the updates overview: the one for your language If you enable NETFX3: kb5007401 DU for SafeOS: kb5027389 DU for Sources: kb5028311 And i would also integrate the latest defender cab by @steven4554 too. Now you have an ISO with the latest updates, with an uptodate winre and the latest protection out of the box. You can use the ISO for clean installs as well as inplace upgrades.
Ah, well. Successfully Manufactured an updated ISO (19044_3324 using abbodi's W10IOU script. Used two methods of in place upgrades this morning. Did huge clean out of redundant files and programs; disconnected peripherals 1xUSB Drive. Achieved free space for installation of 33 GB Method 1: mounted ISO and double clicked setup.exe Method 2: burned ISO with rufus as mbr legacy Bios (I do this anyway with clean installs. Note I only did this after the first mounted ISO attempt A shot in the dark really, there being no reason - that I can think of - for an already installed system from the same ISO that has now been updated to fail Also rechecked crive to make sure partition was marked active Both methods failed with I was hoping to avoid a clean install as perhaps I might run into the same problem and wonder if there is another solution I don't yet have knowledge of. thanks
Rufus is not for (inplace/repair upgrades, it's a bootable USB creation tool and upgrades are done from within a running OS. 33GB should be enough afaik, i have 5GB free on my 32GB MMC laptablet and it always was enough for all upgrades it went thru since 8.1 with which it came pre-installed when i bought it, now it's running latest public 19045. Can you show me screens of all windows you get by running setup.exe from the extracted or mounted ISO?
If you have another PC handy, just clone your current installation, move it to a vhdx, boot, in Hyper-V (or VMware, Vbox, whatever) do the in place upgrade, move the installation back to the original machine.
You are inplace upgrading with the wrong ISO, at least not using an ISO with the same language as the installed OS?
Confession: Before I posted the screens that I sent here I accidentally forgot to tick the box that said "not now" to forbid updates during the process. Anyway I let it run and it downloaded updates. I thought no more about it, then I took the screen shots for you using the "normal" While waiting for a reply I rebooted to browse another installation on my PC. During the reboot I was surprised to see the message At that moment I thought that WU was trying once again to install the August update which was continually failing - it did not matter if it was being applied with w10iu or wu it failed every time. This was why I wanted to upgrade via an updated ISO. When the update finished I browsed the other installation then rebooted and on returning to my current windows 10 LTSC install was pleasantly startled to see that the winver version showed the 19044.3324 build. So, a happy accident! Thanks again for your help and support.
