Well that's a bit of a swizz !!! I held off from doing an in place upgrade - as in why bother? When MS says it will be delivered via WU and no mention of applicability or lack of for LTSC then I just wait.
Ah well, thank you for keeping me right once again.
    best wishes

MS never said it would be delivered by WU on (IoT) Enterprise 2021 LTSC, the thread we are now in ;):D It is meant for non LTSC installs.

It now is out in public since Oct. 2022 and available since July 2022.

Thanks, I know about the public release. I refrained from tackling uudump and creating an ISO since I wrongly believed that the future update (december 12 2023) would do the business for me.
And now I see that it doesn't. Back to the grindstone then,
    best wishes once again.

3 years. End of 2024. Most probably only in Win11 flavor.

What are you missing, or what do want to be in the new version?
New means only bugs, the system works pretty good and stable

Is there a benefit to use Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021 instead of Enterprise and is there a more recent ISO available than en-us_windows_10_iot_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64_dvd_257ad90f.iso and en-us_windows_10_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64_dvd_d289cf96.iso?

main benefit is longer security support: Iot is supported till 2032 and Non-Iot is supported till 2027

Not sure you can change the actual sku without a reg mod and inplace upgrade, but you can just install the media feature pack for N versions.

Can we install IoT LTSC skipping activation then update it to 19044.2788 & then use kms as the first ever activation on it or need to HWID activate first & then change to kms after update 19044.2788?

Windows update doesn't need any activation.

I guess if you reaaaally want to activate offline you could use the same script after updating the system. The only method that MS wouldn't be able to block afaik is if you integrated only the necessary updates into an ISO so you could install offline. MS isn't really in the habit of revoking activation entitlements. Just saying.

That's not it. I already use kms for my other PCs so just wanted to use kms for any new windows install as I can manage it more effectively compared to HWID activation.
