Is this wrong distro? Why does it say IoT? LTSC never was IoT.

Cool thanks. The Ray Tracing should work if it's not complaining anymore.

Might install sometime this week :D.

I may be having a senior moment right now, but I can't get a packages list from my LTSC 19044.282 install.wim I'm wondering now if there's a minimum dism build required to service the image. My current system is LTSB (14393)
    Code:
    dism.exe /image:d:\Offline /Get-Packages /Format:Table /English >Install+.txt
    .
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 10.0.14393.4169

    Image Version: 10.0.19041.746

    Error: 87

    The get-packages option is unknown.

The ISO was 1288, then Windows Updates installed cu-KB5007186 up to 19044.1348.

Oh boy..I remember reading that (and forgetting ), so I didn't realize that was my problem. I would have never found your post again not knowing what to search for. You definitely saved me a lot of time
trying to figure it out.

No, it's not wrong. There are both Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC -and- Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC

The only difference between the two is licensing and method of activation. IoT LTSC 2021 uses HWID, while Ent. LTSC 2021 uses KMS/MAK

Hopefully someone here is able to help me out.

I was running LTSC 2019 1809 and mounted the LTSC 2021 ISO an ran the Setup. To my suprise everything went smoothly and afer some reboots I was back in Windows.

I checked all Settings and decided to run Windows Updates to finally turn them off for now when I'm up to date.

Some dotNet and 21H2 Cumulative Update promted me reboot. Sadly the PC wouldn't reboot.

    Automatic repair did nothing.

Uninstalling previously installed updates told me some Windows Update operations are pending and I should try to use Startup repair.

    Startup repair failed

I checked the System Restore points and only one point was there from hours ago tho not the one I created right before mounting the LTSC 2021 ISO. Checking which programs would be changed gave me an error so I decided to try some reboots again...

Now I tried Safe Mode with Networking and Windows told me something went wrong with the Updates and it is rolling back the changes and cleaning up.

After that I was back in Windows and tried the Updates again.

Then the same happenend tho this time booting into Safe Mode with Networking did not work the first time like before and booted straight to normal mode after rolling back the f**kied up updates. This time I had to restart again and try Safe Mode with Networking again. Now I am in Safe Mode and am writing this. I hope someone will be able to help me out <3

First thing after restarting I guess I will disable Winupdate service

Looking forward to all your experience!

    Many thanks in advance!

/edit: Rebooting from Safe Mode just brings me back to the black screens. Really seems like some Windows Update destroyed my bootloader >_<

Hopefully someone here will guide me through this the easiest and fastest way.

Will try go get to Windows and check here again from Safe Mode.

    Thx again in advance!!

//edit: Now I am back in Windows without Safe Mode. Tho am back on 1809...

I tried Safe Mode with Networking again and it worked so I rebooted hoping I would be brought back to normal Windows. Sadly I was only greeted by those five dots which then left me with a black display and soon my displays went so power saving mode...

Then I tried the Startup repair again which again was not working.

I tried the remove previous updates and the second option (not sure what it is exactly called, guess feature updates or smth) and now I am back on 1809.

Now I will first update 1809 with Windows Updates and then reboot and then check if Windows thinks I am up to date and then I will upgrade to LTSC 2021 again by mounting the ISO.

So strange. after being back in 1809 even my folders were here right where I left them open...

Hope this odyssey is coming to an end soon. Am having problems with this Windows Update for almost 1.5hrs tho am glad I am back to 1809 instead of the black screens for now XDD <3

edit: Okay I now tried the following:

This time I opted to let the Win10 Installer search for Updates etc.
The installation was slower than before and after the second reboot I had these blackscreen problems again. This time I did not even have to got to Safe Mode etc... After trying three or four times the PC said it is undoing what has been doen to the PC and now I am back with LTSC 2019 1809 and was promted with a error msg. :

    '0xC1900101 - 0x40017

The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during BOOT operation'

Hopefully anybody is able to help me. Would not want to install from scratch having to meticulously set everything up...

Many many thx in advance!!! <3

Thank you for this one! 1) to 5) work fine with no failures.
But after that, 6) still tells me "Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC" and no "IoT". The size is different, so something was done, but there was no change of the name.
The only difference is, that my de-de version has Index "1" "Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC" and Index "2" "Windows 10 Enterprise N LTSC".

    What is going wrong here?
