Afaik, it is 3 years of extra updates but you can only buy one year. But considering this is the LTSC thread and IoT LTSC is supported till 2031 or 2032 it is not really the thread to have this discussion in.
ESU licenses are updated in RP 19045.5552: ServerRdsh is now supported for Client esu IoTEnterpriseS is removed from IoT esu
Now Microsoft phasing out apps to not run on LTSC versions of W10 and W11, like MS Teams and Skype... So, they want to force people to stay in the "modern" policy... Sadly...
They are the "modern" appx, indeed, but curiously; Zoom, Firefox, and many other developers still maintain Windows 7...
I'm guessing I need to install a different version and then change the key to get to iot, is that right..?? Is there a preferred version at this point..?? Thanks. Oh, also, this is what I'm up against... https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/old-thinkpad-with-11-move-to-10.89028/#post-1871438
Ok, I think I got it, grabbed this one: Code: 19044.1288.211006-0501.21h2_release_svc_refresh_CLIENT_LTSC_EVAL_x64FRE_en-us Once installed I use that other key to make it iot, yes..?? (sorry, the brain takes some time to warm up there days.)
This is trial version. Copy/paste from OP: For activation or convert LTSC to IoT LTSC use "Microsoft Activation Scripts (MAS)". To find it google for "massgravel+github".
I don't exactly remember if Classic Shell(Open Shell) had this functionality. Other than that I haven't used any other start menu program.
In Windows 10, 7+ Taskbar Tweaker will still work, and it has spacing between Systray icons as an Advanced Option, as well as "Remove extra gap" for pinned ones.
Does the Microsoft defender continue update after the end of normal edition support of W10, with 2021 LTSC?? Is W10 and W11 defender are same or 11 is more efficient than 10?? Is it worth running defender on 10 LTSC, or more secure to run external AV?? Thanks
