For the sake of accuracy and if someone was interested, it seems that at least here the above happens in the current session only. While I can confirm that ViveTool modifies that registry entry (which seems dynamic and changing with each reboot), then backing up that entry to use it in a different session doesn't work. To reach the goal it seems that one must necessarily run ViveTool and not a backup .reg file. I've no idea why, at the moment I can only guess that ViveTool perhaps patches a file related to "MoUsoCoreWorker.exe," but that's only a guessing. Just for the record, ViveTool also creates the file "C:\Windows\bootstat.dat". However, for what it's worth, my current preference, as already mentioned, goes in a different direction.
These registry is the boot store for the feature it will not work if the FeatureConfiguration persistence is not initlialized to check, run this: Code: ViVeTool /lkgstatus
What I did and what worked for me: 1. Download the LTSC x86 ISO of your choice (linked to from the first post). There will be two indexes in the ISO, Enterprise LTSC 2021 and Enterprise LTSC 2021 N. 2. Download the UUPConverter tool from @abbodi1406. We need the "create_virtual_editions.cmd" script from the package. 3. Start the create_virtual_editions.cmd script. Enter the full path to your downloaded ISO and follow the instructions to start the process. 4. It will create a new ISO with three indexes, Enterprise LTSC 2021, Enterprise LTSC 2021 N and IoTEnterprise LTSC 2021.
I get that its popular, but my main point is can I not just download the ISO , and manually install/activate/update. Am I missing something?
There is an "advanced" method, that implies to download the official English LTSC 2021 ISO, then add multiple language, and finally add the updates and enabling .NET 3.5. But, with the aim of "Mental Health", you can just download the official ISO (optionally verify the checksum that it is genuine), and then install it You can activate it with MAS. And yes, it will auto-update without any problems until 2032 (you need the IoT Enterprise edition, you can change it with MAS ).
My main point is to post in the correct thread, LTSC was never on UUP Windows users tend to share their experience, hiccups, requests, news.... it's a forum
Wow ! Thanks so much. One concise post with all relevant info in one place and easy to understand ! It should be sticky at the top of this thread The purpose of updating the ISO by using W10UE + Updates is so that you don't have to manually run all updates after install ? Thanks
Yeah, the official Crappy Tutorial post will be this one: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1705450 Yep, it is always best to start with an uptodate ISO (imho)
